Thumbs up My Dad's Rides, Stingray, SS, Shelby Cobra!

Well my dad finally decided to play with his 71 Stingray, so it was out of the garage and i took some pics! Its a LT1! they onlye made 19xx in 71. car has 15k miles on it, and he bought it brand new when he was 18 for $5,500!!!
I also snapped some pics of his ERA Shelby Cobra 427 F.E. and his 2000 SS... and somewhere in the mix is my WS6.. Enjoy..

Thanks for the pics. Not really a fan of the "shark" bodied vettes, but gotta respect an original 71 w/ only 15K miles... & w/ an LT1???, WOW! That's freakin' bad-a$$ & awesome!

General Motors has produced two different engines called LT1:

* 1970–1972 LT-1 – Chevrolet Generation I Small-Block
* 1992–1997 LT1 – GM Generation II Small-Block

It really has 15k? Its missing the badging and has odd tails. Is the color original? I'm a huge stingray fan as we had an l46 '69 Vert in fathom green. Was as close to an lt1 you could get in 69. Beautiful ws6 BTW!

Hawk is correct about the 2 generations of LT1's... i should have clarified that...
RSbeast, it really has 15k on it... its ontario orange, and yes the stingray emblem fell off one day when he was driving, and somehow the emblem didnt scratch the paint as it flew off.... he noticed the emblem fell off and checked the other emblem and it was loose so he took it off before it would happen again... As for the tail lights, yes they are different, thats what he prefers, and i actually think it looks better with those tail lights..
ill post a pic of how these cars are jammed in the garage, hes got one more vette in the garage tucked away that i didnt post up! and youll be able to see why the vette gets no love....

ok so we got 4 cars in a 3 car garage, and here is the bay where the 2 vettes and the cobra sleep...
[IMG][/IMG]

that is a 79 vette, he also bought that brand new... he drove this one though, it has 82k miles on it... as you can see shes alittle dusty!
I just recently bought a house with a 2 car garage, so finally my baby gets a garage, but im gonna see if he wants to leave one of his rides at my house! well, as long as he leaves the keys of course!

Subscribed for pics of other vette lol, your dad has a nice little collection man. My dad has a 78 (totally modded out) and an 88 (pretty stock). Clean ws6 also.
