Are you using those wheels for aappearance sake? I would have to think they are pretty heavy compared to a Street Lite or RTS.

Well they definitely aren't for function, but they aren't too heavy either. I wanna see how far I can go without giving up any appearance, why my car looks pretty stock from a glance. If I have to buy 15 inch rears for the track I will, but I don't wanna go there just yet.

Making some good use out of a pair of old 10 spokes. I figure these will hit the lugs a little softer then the radial giving the lugs a chance to survive plus they are sticky as hell so traction shouldnt be a fight like it was with the 18s. This is a Hoosier full slick 28x10x17.

This might be a dumb question, but what's the reason for going with a 28" over a 26"? On an unrelated note I love how you're keeping the car stock looking while doing all the stuff you have.

I recently was picking someones brain I trust about my setup and my recent issues. I asked him for a tire sugesstion, gave him a couple options, one was a 26" MT slick and he recommended the Hoosiers so I bought em. Sometimes you have to admit you dont know everything and be willing to step outside your comfort zone and trust someone and thats how I ended up with them. I'm confident I made the right choice. Plus the car is only gonna get faster so the extra tire height was probably gonna be needed at some point.

I think that 28" tire will be a very good choice when you add power.

We have pretty similar setups and that is my big debate 26 vs 28. Don't want to kill ET's but need more mph on the top end. Switching to 9" now. Might stick with the 26" tire til the end of the season then switch to 28". Good luck time to get in the 10's!

Would you believe, all else being equal some say the car may actually go faster on the Hoosiers? It makes no sense to me how that is possible, but I know who is telling me this is NOT full of it, so, we shall see....

Typically you lose a 1-2 mph on a biased ply due to more rolling resistance than a radial. Also you're losing gearing going to a 28" tire, which may slow you down. It's possible the 28" will 60' better. Be careful at the track, myself and many others have experienced a floaty unstable feeling around the 1/8 mi - 1000 ft mark due to the severe oversteer created with the radial front/biased rear. You may even feel this without turning the steering wheel, if you do it's unsettling and will make you wanna get out of the throttle. Just don't try to correct it and keep the wheel straight.

I have felt that already on a low psi radial. When I took these out the first time I felt something similar. I'm definitely gonna take my time and get used to them. I hope to make a couple test passes tomorrow in mexico if the weather cooperates.

Well the news is in, she did run a new PB (60ft, et, and mph) by a good margin over the previous. I am waiting to assemble go pro footage and some pics from the event and will do a proper post once ive got all that. And yes those hoosiers bite like holy hell.
