Default GMMG Exhaust with cam on manifolds...perfect!

Finally threw a cam in the daily driver bird last week.

Sounds so good with the cam (EPS 222/226 115+3) in it on stock manifolds with the GMMG. I think I may just hold off on headers.
I'd hate to ruin the sound. If I want more power I might get ported heads before headers.

I guess the best way to describe how it sounds is: deep/heavy/exotic/refined

Oh and it dyno'd at 365 hp/346 lb ft when I picked it up last week. Cam only with lid and catback.

If you decide to add headers and it gets to be too much, a lot of guys have had great success adding a powerstick or a chambered muffler from stainlessworks to help with the cackle/rasp. Sounds great tho

its gonna be wicked loud with headers, either do headers and lose the gmmg or keep the manifolds and the exhuast you have .

I think Torchd 02 is his name. He posted a pretty informative post on doing it in the external engine section. I would do it purely from a performance standpoint, because even with doing all that it wouldn't sound as good without the manifolds.

Overall I think it sounds perfect the way it is now. It may not be the loudest as far as cars with headers as far as decibel level, but it sounds better than most of them because there is zero rasp and it still sounds so mean and as many put it "god awful heavy" LOL.

With headers it will sound like sex! Pretty much how it sounds now just 2-3 times as loud without cats. I say do it with a catted y since you like the sound....trust me you will love it even more

i agree. it sounds very nice. more of a video game sound but you are leaving ALOT on the table from headers..may be at least get the slp ory that works with the stock manifolds.

EDIT: this is M6 car right?

Yeah it still sounds great with headers and a catted Y. It's when you remove the cats!!! I still like the sound but its loud and adds some rasp.

It does have a nice mellow sound to it with manifolds though.

Cats make it louder and more annoying. If you decide on headers do it with a o/r y pipe and a cutout

I loved the sound of the GMMG on mine. Once you start pushing more air though it turns into rasp city.
