Default going for 8's, mostly stock 6.0 in a mustang

took the the lexus and mikes mustang up to marion sd yesterday. mike was intent on either blowing it up or running a 8sec pass. one of the other was going to happen that day.

the track was crazy busy. 99% of the cars were running slicks. the track dead hooked every pass even into the night when it was dewy and in the 50's.

here is the video >> http://neufamily.org/images/mikessta...arion%20sd.wmv

best run of the night was at 23psi.

1.27 60'
5.70@121 1/8th
8.98@147 1/4

the car is not light(3450 with driver) and the motor is mostly stock. arp head studs, used zo6 cam and ls9 head gaskets.

he is now looking at dropping some weight and reworking the converter to get a little more top end out of it.

no rod bolts.

head studs are the arp's. part number depends on year of motor.

Congrats. With that low of MPH and still go 8's says something about the track and your susp was working for you too. Was that on slicks or radials

that is on drag radials.

mike was looking over the logs and said he is seeing something odd with the rpm's up top. looks like we might be droping one cylinder. the rpms drop~50rpm then jump back up, does this on and off thru the rpms. it gets worse and sooner each time he turns the boost up. on the last run he said it is doing it at the top of 1st and all thru high gear.

if it is blowing out the spark on one cylinder that would help explain the low mph. time to look at the plugs, plug gap, voltage to the coils... he is running 7's at .026 gap. with hp tuners we would just up the dwell but he has an msd box.
