94 Supra with 421 stroker smallblock swap
You DO realize that wrecked Supra TTs sell for almost 10 grand right? This car has brand new paint, new rims, new tires, killer stereo, built trans, TRD LSD rear, and a $9k 530 HP motor in it that sounds like the world is coming to an end. It's easily worth 20 grand.
a tt roller is worth 12-13 with nothing on it.. a salvage tt roller is worth maybe 7 that is what he has there lol. how are you getting 10 grand for a roller. 10 grand will get you a full functional N/A which is the same thing as a TT, just different VIN... also. the vin has never been verified by him to be a tt either, he just says he THINKS it is. so he is hoping and dreaming.
we have had to go through **** crap before with the last guy that said he has 50k worth of parts on his car, so it is worth 50k to sell... its a salvage title supra that might be a tt shell but who knows... with no supra drivetrain or engine, that has an engine that cost 9k... he MIGHT get 12k out of it, people who buy those cars aren't looking for some chevy motor in it... his best bet is parting it out.
its easily NOT worth near 20 grand lol, thank god i have some redneck to show me the price of a car i own. i should just sell my car to the next guy who rolls up on me and says "DUUUUDE A SUPRA!! ill buy it right now for 20k!!! id get a deal of a lifetime right? cause he said so... right?
Apparently, though, you think the motor is "worthless." Wow. And I do find it pathetic that the Supra FANBOIZ have to come over here and jack off 2JZs. Oh, and get some new material, the "redneck" talk is getting real old.
i think that motor in that car is worthless. put that motor in a big *** heavy 70's muscle car and you have found a good use for it.
Sooo what Supra do you drive? Fool probably owns a MK3.

i drive a prius

The guy is comparing putting on headers to throwing on an entire turbo kit! How can you be so stupid?
not sure how you can't make the comparison?? ls1... remove stock header and exhaust... add on after market tubular headers and full exhaust.
supra, remove stock header and exhaust (which has a turbo attached to it, and not to mention when we remove the stock turbos. we leave the whole assembly in tact and just unbolt the mani... so yes. just remove the mani). attach aftermarket tubular manifold and exhaust... which has a turbo attached to it.
congrats you have now done the exact same thing... except.. wait you are right, my bad, we do have to tighten down 4 more bolts.... **** that eliminates that mod
ssmokin said "uhhhhh... gay" and the op responded in kind calling him a ******.. we are just entertaining his childlike demeanor of not accepting criticism, hence why this thread is so long and chocked full of his responses when he could just end it by saying "to each his own"... but nope, he is just the same. an elitist ******* that claims that he made an upgrade to the car.
i do know where you are coming from though, but the spice in life is sometimes found in a rednecks garage in the form of an outdated engine being shoved into a car that was better to start.
First off, learn how to quote properly. It's not hard. Secondly, I own the car posted, just to clarify since you obviously missed that, genius.
I will have no problem getting $20k for this car. If you think otherwise you're an idiot, plain and simple. Going on and on with the "redneck" insults, so predictable and lame. Wouldn't expect anything else from a Supra fanboy though, they get all butthurt at the slightest things but attempt to dish it out constantly.
So the engine in the car is "worthless" yet if I put it in a heavier car it's no longer worthless?
Brilliant, just brilliant. It gets the Supra moving just fine, thanks. If you're going to be talking about a 530 HP motor as worthless then you had better be driving something making some ridiculous power or you just look like a fool. (I.E. you)And now to my favorite part...NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE on Earth considers a turbo kit upgrade to be a bolt-on. Even Supra people use queer little terms like BPU for a bolt on car or APU (Advanced Performance Upgrades) to talk about cars with single turbo upgrades. Now, since you think you know so much about Supras, does something "advanced" (using your own groups terminology) sound like a bolt-on to you? You're just ******* retarded, plain and simple.
I guess the LS1 owners that have turbo kits on their cars refer to them as bolt-on cars, right? Just took off the stock manifolds and bolted on a few hundred HP! Yep, that Procharger just bolted right on, I must have a bolt-on car because I used bolts!
Who knew?

Damn LS1tech is turnin into ricer fest. This is why we all cant collectively talk about cars like mature adults with open minds.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
yeah, lets compare that to a 2jz..
vs.
a car that got an intake, exhaust, and turbo kit put on it.... no nitrous, why do you guys think it needs nitrous? this isn't some inefficient V8 that can't push out power at higher rpms.
I just don't understand the logic that completely redoing the entire turbo system is a "bolt on" only because the car was originally a twin turbo car or whatever....in the end you are still replacing everything just like the car was N/A.
Since it is no more work to "bolt on" a turbo kit to a stripped turbo 2jz, bolting on a similar turbo kit to the v8 should be just as fair.
The nitrous was brought up by the Supra clan btw...
What I want to see is the 421 Supra race a real bolt on Supra of the same/similar RWHP both from a dig and ~30mph roll.
Someone is calling a Turbo a BOLT-ON??
Edit..found it.

So apparently if you talk to the import kids its not uncommon to refer to entire turbo upgrade cars as "bolt on". Who knew? I just want to know why they can tear half the car apart and replace it with significant $$$$ upgrades and it's "bolt on". But if I flip the manifolds on my Silverado and bolt up a turbo kit...
Upgrading displacement is not a bolt on. Be it stroker kit, blower increase, or turbo size increase.

So is an Engine Swap a bolt-on? Or a bolt in?
Just tryin to be clear here so I can properly list the mods for my MCSS.
The Eagle Rods were Bolt-on with the ARP Rod Bolts..we just put the Bolts through the Pistons to make it true 100% Bolt-on.
