Default LMR 408ci + 80mm turbo build pics

well i threw up the startup vid a few weeks back, here are a few photos of the car during the build, fuel system, etc... car has got an LMR 408ci shortblock with all the goodies, 9.5:1 with Edelbrock 245 heads, BW 80mm turbo with all the necessities...just wrapped up the fuel system and crankcase evac, dyno and tune anyday... its been 6 months since the 408 install, glad its done... T56 car right now, but considering the th400 soon depending on how it acts on the skreetz....

thanks guys... tranny has been uprgraded a tad, should be good to go especially since the car is built for highway stuff as it sits... only thing stock in the car is the rear end unfortunately.. working on that now, but will see how strong the stock one is on the dyno ... plan is a ford 9 inch... im also up in the air about going th400 route, i want to see how much i enjoy bangin the gears first though

Cool man. I love your car. My goal is to do a build like that in the future.

I would keep the T56. In my opinion, there's nothing more fun than a T56 car.

thank a lot man, it was a cam+ nitrous car before, so its my first turbo car since my DSM a few years back. Im def looking forward to it but still getting used to it! Good luck with your build man, they can get addicting

Did you keep AC? What is on those manifolds in the first couple pictures?

Its a wrap, for heat. I'm probably wrong but I think its a kind of fiberglass? Anyway, I was gonna give you props on using a black wrap actually, looks bad ***. Much better than some of the white/off white I've seen.

No AC anymore...maybe one day tuff fit. Bill u are right its a FG exhaust wrap to keep heat down. I actually wrapped mine and then painted the wrap with high heat VHT... But they do sell black wrap now...thanks for the compliments

Also the first cpl pics i actuallly cut the FG from a sheet which is why it looks frayed. I rewrapped using prepackaged wrap so its a lot cleaner... Well worth it

What did the shortblock set you back? I've heard nothing but great things about LMR. They will be my company of choice when the time comes.

Very nice! Im doing almostthe same. Most people hide the cam spec. Can you say what cam, and how much vacum at idle?

ill have the dig out the cam card.. its custom grind split duration cam that LMR suggested. If im not mistaken its a 240/244 .605 lift 114 LSA...

Nice ride,but i will put money a th400 is in that car before summer,same thing i wanna do,stick car is fun, but a fast car has an auto,a 400 with a mvb isnt as fun as working a clutch but still is fun,very nice car,really the only people that hide cam specs and info are the people that are running for cash,gotta keep that kind of stuff hush hush lol,killer ride op

Car looks and sounds great. Waiting on my 408 kit to arrive, hope it runs like that. Got to pick a cam thinking of trying 239/247 600lift 114ls. Let me know how it spools.
