$100k+ ZR1 Corvette

I sold the 83 T/A last weekend and this is the transporter that came to pick it up (actually this is on the dropoff end as it was dark when it was picked up but the ZR1 was on it then as well)

1100+ miles on an open transporter for a corvette ZR1.

You would think someone buying a zr1 wouldn't be a cheap *** and do open transport.

That doesn't seem right to jeopardize the car like that.

FWIW thats how all Corvettes are shipped from the Vette plant across the 48 states, open car haulers. At least its not suffering the abuse of a train like the Camaros.

Perhaps I'm wrong here, but cars are actually driven on the street right? It's safer on the car hauler than driving it.

well yes, but you see people spending extra money to used enclosed shipping for cars that cost $20-50k, i'm surprised to see a 100k+ car on an open trailer.

depends.. there are a lot of factors to consider as to whether it's worth it or not to spend the extra money for an enclosed hauler

Yep. Cadi's etc. GM won't pay for enclosed delivery transport.

Even BMW is hit or miss these days. Some come enclosed, some open on privately owned rigs

My car's been on a car hauler, a rental trailer behind a budget truck, a train, a ship, and possibly a C130 cargo plane.
