Default Anyone into plastic model car kits?

I remember a few years back when I built hundreds of those neat car kits. Nowadays guys just prefer to buy them already assembled but anyone who ever built one of those know that the amount of detail possible is incredible.

Recently I started again. Check this 1968 El Camino SS with 396 motor. I decided to add 1969 Mustang Mach rims and rubber as well as a custom wooden bed. All possible detail to the motor will be recreated, still a work in progress.....Thought I shared a few pics, let me know what you think.

Nice job. I like models but I am more into planes than cars. I used to have them hanging from my ceiling when I was a kid.

I did it A LOT when I was younger, and 9 weeks ago, almost to the day, I bougth a few to do. I did a AWSOME yenko, and a sweet c10, and decent 32, but the c10 and 32 were knocked off the shelf ( ****** DOG ) and that discouraged me from building the other two ( 62 catalina, and a Shelby Series One ) It seems anytime I get a good one built, It ends up getting ruined, or in teh final stages I **** it up lol... So I gave it up, again, for a while.. If I had a place that I could do it and leave it, and take more time at it, I might get back into it again, but now I do It on my computer desk, and end up getting annoyed at the **** on the desk and try to set it somewhere and it gets fucked up again... grr. lol

BUT, nice work man!

i use to build those before i had a car to actually work on, they shoulda make little engine kits to build up the engine and they would actually run on electric now that would be the ****. teach you how to build stuff and have every kind of engine you could want to build up except the imports would run on rice of course lol.

Ive got two old SBC motor kits. Ones a 1955 kit that actually runs and has sparkplug lights and a working distributar, and ones a 2000-ish model that runs off a hand crank. I am gonna go pick up a 427 hemi kit soon..

I like doing them. I'm doing a 65 Mustang fastback for my dads bday. Where do you buy all your access. wires from? What site? I'm trying to go all out on this one model.

Finally after 6 months of searching I found the one I wanted. Its a 1998 Trans Am WS6 ram air. I'm gonna paint it just like my car & put it in a case for car shows. I couldn't believe I finally found one.

I'm working on a 98 WS6 now that I'm gonna make look like my car.

Maybe won't have the rims just right, but close enough!

I did a 98 WS6 years ago to look like my car. I even took fuel rail covers off of a C5 corvette model to put on my car. It looked cool. I kept it on my desk at work and when I left that job I was carrying it out side and dropped it. One of the mirrors fell off and I was never able to find it. I'll have to post pics later.

Just recently I did the Ghostbusters Ecto Cruiser and the Back to The Future Delorean.
