Best lookin silverados in my opinion. Don't like the older ones and don't like the new ones, those are the meanest looking. Nice truck

whats the best/easiest way to de-badge it? i would hate to screw up the paint, but think the truck would look much cleaner/better de-badged

It's VERY easy. There are many ways, but find that the easiest is to park the truck in the sun for a few hours, and then just pull them off. There will be some residue left, but don't sweat that. The residue / foam tape left can be taken off with 3M adhesive remover, which is safe for the paint. The stickers just peel off. I chose to leave the "Chevrolet" on the tailgate because I thought it was tasteful, but I ditched the "Silverado" emblem. See here (after debadging, before pulling the mouldings):

There are similar methods you can find that work just as well (see websites below). Just be prepared to spend an hour or so, and expect some sore fingertips. It's well worth it!

After you're done, give it a good claybarring and a coat or two of wax.

Make sure you spend sometime over on PerformanceTrucks.net, and also GMFullSize.com. There is TONS of great info about these trucks.

My other suggestion to you is to get some colormatched door handles. GM sells them already painted, so you just install them. They might even have colormatched tailgate handles since you have pewter. I might be able dig up some part numbers if you want (they're on PT.net in a thread).

thanks! i have pulled plenty of modling before, jsut never worried about the paint underneith lol. i strip derby cars every year and the molding is usually easy to get off, but sometimes the paint likes to chip along with it. it is supposed to be hot this weekend, i may have to take some time to do that. break out the hairdryer for the tough spots.

i spend alot of time on fullsizechevy.com, but rarely vitit PT.net or GMfullsize but am a member on both. as for the handles and such, i like them black, breaks it up a bit.

well my truck is my DD and only vehicle for now. and sadly it is not my #1 money pit either. wait till you see my quad lol. hte only reason i am gonna start to mod the truck is because i am running out of things to do on the quad lol. if i could afford it i would love to have an f-body. actually passed up a deal on a 93 z28 a while back, guy wanted to trade it for my ol 1992 GMC truck.
