I recently picked up a Nuvi 350 navigator.
The stock splash screen when you turn it on was too boring.
It needed to be Mod'd!
For anybody that has one of these things I thought ya may get a kick out of this.

Thats badass I have one of these how did you do it?

 

All I did was yoink the d_splsh_scrn.jpg file from the jpg directory on the nuvi..
Chopped it..and dumped it back on the unit with a new file name.
In settings/display/splashscreen just pick the new image.

Save the file..copy it to the nuvi's JPG directory and set it as your splash screen

Is it worth it? It depends. Its pretty good at what it does. My favorite things about included (but certainly not limited to)...
The text to speech speaks the name of the street..many dont do this.
Automatic recalculating of the route when you go 'off course'.

For me? Is it worth it?..I think so. I bought it primarily for car shows. Since they are 'all over the place', I think it will come in handy.
This lil puppy should eliminate all the dang pages of mapquests/googlemaps I have to take with me..
BTW..the maps it uses are NAVTEQ maps.. The same maps that google maps uses.
