Newbie w/ 5.0 getting initiated...
Hey guys first off this is not a bragging right by any means I understand that. I'm not a punk racer who all of a sudden thinks he is bad *** because he dominated a 5.0 bolt on mustang...lol. This guy recently joined our local car forum and began running his mouth about how he rakes in ls1 vettes and fbodies all the time and how funny they look after he does it. At the point I simply decided to call him out next meet. Well tonight he came out and I had a buddy set him up with me so we did a few look overs to make sure we both were being honest about our cars and headed out to a popular road for this occasion...
I basically slingshot out a couple of busses once I catch traction...lol. He even nailed it after the first honk and I was like wtf?
Once again no bragging just showing ownage in it's purest form.

The guy didn't miss any gear. This was the result for the other 2 races was well. Basically i spin that guy didn't and when I hook it makes him look like he missed a gear. The car is a 15 second car guys and go mid 12's. It would be like a video of me racing a mid 9 second car. It's gonna look like I missed a gear or some **** when in reality I just got raped...

Thats kind of what I assumed... Spin, spin, spin, spin, HOOK...bye bye. haha
I dont seem to spin from a roll ever. I hardly spin from a dig as long as Im mindful of the right foot. I think my cam has something to do with that...where the power really ramps up. And I run mid 11s. So its a neck snapper on the highway for sure!
No better feeling than beating someone cocky. Just that look on their face when they realize they messed up by challenging you.. haha.

All 3 times bro? If this had happened once then yea if he claimed to miss a gear then sure why not. This guy had a stock 5.0 with intake/exhaust. Like I stated earlier had this been me racing a mid 9 second car would it not appear that I missed a gear? We did a couple of digs with the exact same result. It will appear that the guy isn't trying but in reality it's a 3 second difference in cars...

The guy had no excuses other than he needed to swap out his v6 rear end and his rear coil overs. He would have said hey I missed a gear had he really missed a gear. At the track when I line up next to a 9 or 10 second car it looks the exact same way man. Your not thinking about this correctly at all. By the way that rev limiting is my car barely hitting the limiter once on the 2-3 shift since my 4.10's and stock tach make it hard to really see where I'm at on the rpms. I told the guy before hand I was gonna run all the way through my 4 gears and let off at 111mph where they run out so that is exactly what I did each time. Do you still feel your opinion is valid?

what does that mustang trap at the track? probably 90-95? to the OP dont worry about the naysayers that race is legitimate considering your trap speed is probably 20 mph higher!!!
any car that has the ability to trap 20mph higher than you in the quarter mile WILL walk away very hard its science! lol

I have no idea what that mustang traps at the track. It's gonna trap whatever a stock 5.0 w/ nothing more than cold air and mufflers would do though so it may not even hit 90mph. It's funny how people just aren't understanding how slow that car was...lol.
