Honestly, I can't tell what you're talking about from your blurry pics... Looks like a good job to me... MSpaint it where you have problems or take some clear pics..

I guess you could be talking about the red spot.. Is that rust?

from seller

Whoa. Hold up.

You can ask anyone on this board that tons of people epoxy TBs when porting.
I sold you a fully functioning ported throttle body that came off of a running car. I know he didn't sell it to you, I wasn't trying to get him involved, I was trying to get him to assure you that the TB worked great and was a good piece.
I didn't get pics posted up because my car and parts for it (currently down) are about 30 mins away at a friends house and I didn't have time to get out there and take pics of it that week I put it up for sale. Besides, you didn't even ask me for any pictures of it. I really hadn't looked it over and didn't even have a chance to pull it off the intake until after you sent payment. I knew it was good because it worked well on his car and I had fully intended to use it until another friend sold me his shaner s3 for $50. Who wouldn't turn that down.

I didn't sell you defective throttle body, it works just fine, and will give you the same outcome and performance any hand-ported throttle body will.

I am not refunding your money. You can give me a negative rating on here if you want to, but I sold you a functioning part that is in fine working condition. I'm sorry, I don't sell junk and don't feel it's a junk part.

I'm sure you can sell it and find another if you choose to, but just like any parts store or ebay part, I'm not going to give you your money back on something that is not defective. I'm sorry.

It looks like it was ported a little where the blade sits and so there's a gap there, is that correct? That would make it idle high. People epoxy the squared out portion of the TB, not to fill in holes from a bad port job, there's a big difference.

Re: throttle body

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't run that TB on my car. I got it from a friend in Tulsa, his s/n on here is Jordan S.
If you want to msg him about it feel free. I had a fast 90 intake on my car when it was heads/cam last year and I traded him my fast 90 combo for his ls6 intake and that ported TB + cash. I got a deal on a shaner S3 tb and decided to sell this one (the one you bought from me that was on his car). He never had any issues with it and I honestly didn't even notice the welds on it. I literally pulled it off the ls6 manifold and put it in the box. I didn't examine it because I knew it worked fine for him and I had intended to use it on my car. Like I said, I wasn't trying to sell you a junk piece, and he's a good guy so I knew it would be fine. Feel free to PM him on here if you're concerned. Sorry about the cosmetic issues, I assure you it's in great working order and you will see gains with it.

I can't see the pics from work, but from the sounds of it, it was a home-ported TB, and they messed up on it and tried to fix it with JB weld. Will it hold and work fine? probably. But its not what you wanted.

The hole is drilled there for a cam. They didn't have a proper tune, so drilling the TB gives the car more air at idle and keeps the idle up (keeping the car from dying from not having a proper tune).

And that wasn't described in the AD either....

I would want $$ back if I was the buyer..

PM sent AGAIN firechicken76, way to handle this in a professional manner. I had no problem talking with you civily through PMs, I don't know why you went and posted up your so called 'issues' all over this site. I told you, I don't sell junk parts and didn't realize there was 'issues' with this TB. I traded for it through a friend and his car had no problems with it.

That is epoxy. It is used alot in P&P'ing alot. I DIDN'T realize it was there prior to you sending payment or even before I posted this ad due to me trading for it in January and it had been on a shelf at my friend shop connected to an ls6 intake since then. The TB was ported all the way through, filled with epoxy, and polished smooth. That is how a real TB is Ported and the polished. I guess you probably want a TB that someone took a dremel to and polished like a mirror. Sure thats pretty but that doesn't do **** for performance.

Epoxy is whats used to reshape the surface of something when porting. Its probably in half the Vic Jr's sitting on the SBC and BBC's at the track.

The reason the hole is there in the blade is to let air in at idle. There is an idle airflow circuit that the ECM runs to make the engine idle right. When you put in a big cam the I.A.C. maxs out trying to allow enough air at idle. So, you drill that hole bigger to help it out. I honestly did not notice this either.

This part is fully functional and not defective. I wasn't trying to avoid posting pics due to these cosmetic defects you're having problems with. Next time ASK QUESTIONS about the item you're going to buy instead of just sending money if you're not sure about it and I would have taken the time to use an hour of my evening to answer them (going out to my friends house where the car/part was to take pics, look it over, etc). Yes, bigfatls1 asked questions earlier in the post, but by then I'd received your payment and the transfer of funds from my paypal account had began and there was no need to post because it was already sold.

02EBZ06, are you not looking at the same pics as us? The epoxy is not used in the TB to smooth it out, nor is it used in the way you are describing at all. It was used to fill in a broke-*** hole and to act any differently is a bold-faced lie, period. You can't sell someone a TB with an enlarged hole and call it a perfectly functioning TB either, that's a load of crap.

Face it, you DID NOT sell him what you advertised, period. You owe the kid his money back because you advertised gold and sent the kid junk. If you didn't know it was like that, it isn't his fault it is yours. He was supposed to ask if there was a hole in the side of the TB that was fixed with epoxy? Get real.

Well we both got screwed in this deal. I thought I had something I could sell quick when I traded for it, apparently I was wrong.
I've already PM'd firechicken and I'm refunding his money. I assumed it was in better shape, I have explained all of this in the PM I sent him. It had been sitting at my friends shop since january and I didn't look over the TB closely when I traded for it then. I put it up for sale without seeing it in 2 months. I really didn't remember it having 'problem areas'.
Maybe the TB does have issues, maybe not. Guess it depends on if you're tuning for the thing. Yes the hole in the blade is a goofy mod to support a larger cam and proper tuning could have avoided doing this.
However, it does function fine, but I personally don't have any use for it. When I get it back and it will be relisted for $40 if anyone wants it considering the 'issues' with it. Otherwise it'll be a paper weight or scrap metal

I'm an honest guy. Look at my trader rating. I've only had one other semi issue on here and that was some valvesprings I sold a guy that had one damaged during shipping and I refunded his money without question. I'm not gonna get on here and sell junk, I wouldn't want that happening to me.
