Default Couple questions.

I've had my car for a lil over a month and decided to put the rear up on ramps to try and find the cause of a noise I keep hearing, I found it,I think? muffler making noise over bumps and during take off and stopping, the rubber hanger things are looking a little stretched, anyways on to the questions.

question 1. is the drivers side of the Y pipe supposed to be flat? it's about 1 1/2 inches thick .

question 2. whats the ladder bar looking thing that runs along side the driveshaft?

Thanks in advance for your replies and suggestions if any given.

Q1, yes the y pipe is flat on the driver side for clearance,
Q2, torque arm... To keep the rear and trans straight with each other.

Thanks for the speedy reply Conan.
so I would imagine the replacement of that pipe would give a little wake-up to things.
so i'm thinking my first few mods will be exhaust.
Thanks again.

I have a 3" off road Y pipe from KOOK's and it's got a flat spot in it too. The exhaust is the best thing to start with. Get some long tube headers and a new Y pipe. Do you have to keep emmissions?

You already have the ls6 intake on your 01 so a full exhaust will wake your car up quite a bit.

Not sure what exhaust you have. I have SLP loudmouth, and I had to adjust it because I heard noises back there too. The pipe was rubbing around the axle area. You might want to check that area out.

Thanks for the reply wildbird but my junks all stock.
I think the problem is the rubber hanger on the drivers side it looks a little stretched and tatterd so when I do my exhaust I'll replace them then unless the sound drives me bonkers before then.
