Default Low gas mileage....?

Ive got a 2000 WS6 M6 and I filled it up and got about 290 miles on the tank...and 250 miles of them were highway at 80mph. So does this seem like kinda low mileage to you guys? Cuz its only like 20mpg.

well first off your going way too fast 80mph that too much that y ur mileage is going down on the highway. As for as i can tell your doing decent enough for 50/50 half city and half highway. If you want better gas mileage dont go 80 on the highway. When i bought this car I knew that gas was gonna go its a v8.

Hey bro, it's stock gearing and 6th is no good til 70. Seems a little low to me but are you measuring half with the fuel level guage? Cause that's definitely not half.I guage mine when I fill up and take a road trip I should be at 100 miles by the time my needle moves to the F line and 210-220 ish at the "half" mark.

Do the full tank measurement method
Fill till brim (you MAY spill gas, but try to get it as full as possible), start with full tank, drive, refill using same method. Check amount filled versus how much driven. All city will be low, combined will be leaning towards highway, all highway should be in line with so called economy v6 cars.

What slade said...gauges are ****, go by filling then using then filling again

and if you're really only getting 20mpg mostly highway with a m6 then yeah...its time for a tune up

I'm getting as high as 25 highway at 70mph in my car, which is heavier, less aerodynamic, has heavier driveshaft/12bolt/large wheels tires. That's with several wot runs too. 91 octane with half small bottle of lucas fuel treatment.

Yeah it seems hella low...when I filled it I did fill it till it spilt out....and then when I refilled it it took 14.5 gallons so...thats mean I got around the low 20's and thats not good with only 40 city miles and 250 highway....and I went 80 for about half and 70 the other half.

Doing almost all city driving I'm getting about 200 miles per tank haha but I'm also getting on it a lot since I just got the car. But I didn't buy the car for the gas mileage. I bought it for the fact that every time I get in it it puts a smile on my face.

You sure you are really empty? I know its a dumb question but the fuel gauge on mine seems to fluctuate a lot. It will say 1/2, then go back up to between 1/2- 3/4. Just my $.02

I get about 30 at 80 mph in my m6. Your ws6 will have wider tires, but shouldnt make much of a difference. Around here 80 isnt fast. Im constantly getting passed at that speed in cruise. Police only care about 90+ish here.

no one mentioned that when the check gauges light comes on you have about 3 gallons left, check your total mileage at this time then do it again and compare

mine sometimes when the check gauges light comes on the car does feel slower not sure why i though it was due to it almost running out of gas
