Default ls2 vs ls1

is there really much of a difference as in a foundation on these two?? i mean if your gonna mod plenty of it, is the ls2 really much better than the ls1? the reason im asking is because i just came on a really good deal on a ls2, but not sure if i should jump on it.

Well I don't really know too much about which is better all out modding wise. But I would have to go with the LS2 since it is of bigger displacement.

The LS2..bigger displacement, more potential, better Heads.

All you are going to have to do is wire a couple of things differently. What year is the Engine?

my friend called me and told me he has one coming on the way, he has a scrap yard. he knows nothing about lsx's and only the engine/tranny are coming, no cpu. he has no clue what year or what car the ls2 is from. he's selling it to me for $1500.

Is it for sure an LS2 then.. I have seen quite a few people call the 6.0l Votec a LS2 cause all they see is a 6.0l LS Engine..
