Default texas speed x-pipe

first, i hope everyone had a good christmas. second, my dad got me pacesetter LTs and i wanna put an ORX on it when i put the headers on. i know texas speed has the x-pipe kit that comes with mufflers but i dono if its really worth the $400 something it costs. should i just get the muffler shop that puts my exhaust on to make me an x-pipe and pipe everything or is the texas speed kit really worth it?

The texas speed kit is really nice, but yea that price is killer. Depending on how good, and cheap the exhaust shop is that you go to, they may be able to make one for about half that price, but remember you still need mufflers.....kinda. It just depends on if the shop will do it for the right price, and if the kit comes with the mufflers you want. If you want to hear every muffler ever made for our cars go to LS1Sounds.com, and start searching.

If you know that the texas speed kit is exactly what you want, then its probably your best bet. Since metal has gone up, exhaust shops have been increasing there prices like crazy. I say get the shop to give you a estimate on a X-pipe, and go from there brother.

Yeah, the price is a little on the high side but it is complete. Something you may want to look into is having a local shop make you a dual system that dumps in front of the rear end, and have them stab an H-pipe in it (pretty much everyone agrees that the H pipe setup gives a better sound than the X). But be sure of your states local laws, some states will not allow an exhaust system to dump in front of the axle on a passenger vehicle.

$400+ just seems too high for a few peices of metal and two little mufflers, and it comes in like 10 different sections. i thought x-pipes flowed better than h-pipes. or does the slightly more restrictive sound make it sound better? and i live in sc, our laws are 15 years behind everyone else and the cops are good ol boys who wouldnt care either way. haha

I have the TSP duals myself. Even though it may cost a few bucks you get what you pay for. It has all the parts nessesary including really good clamps for the piping... and you said the "mufflers" are tiny which I don't get because they come with bullets which actually don't really muffle anything. I have the Dynomax bullets and its loud as **** but it sounds great! Couple that with a cam and it'll be killer.

If you do have a shop fab you up an exhuast be careful.. I've seen some hack jobs on this site before with people just trying save a few pennies and sacrifice quality resulting in a poor finished product.

I had a few different mufflers on mine and nothing sounded as good as the Morosos. I remember selling mine on here for around 150 so look around and you might just find yourself one for a good price

Yes if you want to save it doesn't hurt to look in the classifieds.. You can find a good price for them no doubt. And I beleive sweet thunder is the quietest exhaust if that matters.

thanks man... I say go with TSP. You don't want to spend money on something now and hate yourself later. But its you call buddy. Just my .02 cents

01ssreda4- here in Albuquerque its hard to find a 3" mandrel bender. I ran under the axel after my tsp tru dual setup with some corsa tips. And the bends under the axel are dimpled.
