Default Weird Thing w/ Anti Theft

this is on my TA

it will arm anti theft, and honk twice if it is touched, or a car revs, etc....WITHOUT ME LOCKING IT....if i opened the UNLOCKED door, it sets off the alarm (the horn is going out by the way if that could be a cause of this)

also....if i hit the panic button....hitting the unlock button wont turn it off...i have to start the car to disable it

also #2.....it is very sensitive...in a line of 6 TAs side by side...my car was the only to honk twice when a car would start...

Could i possible have a aftermarket alarm, that still use the factory keypad, and horn?? or do i have to disable an anti-theft device??

Thanks

Sounds like its set to be too sensitive. Their is a little black box that you can adjust located by the spare tire area. Also when I hit the panic button the only way to turn it off is to hit the panic button again or turn the car on.

Your alarm may be set for auto. So it automatically arms after the doors are closed for 30 seconds. Check your user manual to check how to change it.

Just a quick question.

If that IS the case, with some of these cars..
If you leave the keys in the car, but not in the ignition..
will the alarm still activate?

Defiantly sounds like the alarm is too sensitive, check your owners manual to see how to adjust it. Good Luck

Yes....just check your manual to check how to turn this feature off.
