The "chokemaster" is one of the most restrictive catbacks for the fbody. If you swaped to a hooker or a magnaflow you would probly see a 10-15 hp gain, and even a higher gain if you ever add a cam or heads/cam. One other option is to get a cutout. I had the flowmaster before my hooker and I liked the sound but just wanted more power, the cutout would make you the most power and keep the flowmaster sound for crusing.

10-15 HP gain dude you wont gain that much someone posted a thread where they had a flowmaster and and a cut-out they dynoyed cut-out open there was a difference of 8 hp from a cutout to the flowmaster, and he had dyno sheets to prove it search it and you will find it. Just switching catbacks is not going to give you 10-15 hp the cut out didnt even do that. People spread so much bogous info and never have proof 10-15 its just your personal choice. I like how the flows sound with my setup so I'm keeping them I'm not going to fork out more money for another cat-back for 8 hp if it bothers you that much like dude above said get a cut-out.

yeah considering you can only expect 15hp from the free flowing catbacks on the market (the 3" ones)....i doubt you'd see that much from swapping the flowmaster out.

i can see 5-7hp though.

i would just do the cutout

My car came with flowmasters and !cats when I bought it. I put in an electric cutout last year. This past fall I dynoed it on a dynapack dyno with the cutout open and closed, and saw a 20 rwhp increase.

I heard that a flowmaster is more restrictive than stock tho......... so I don't know maybe you can see a 10hp difference.

make sure we are doing apples to apples. a flowmaster crossflow aka 80 series is different from another series like say 40/50/60. two completely different mufflers.

I have heard exactly the same thing as schuby is saying here. My buddy had got a RWHP gain of around 20HP when he got rid of his flowjunk.

That is true. I agree with you. MY buddy has a twin turbo car. The flowmaster is super restrictive I have on on my car right now because it came on the car when I bought it this past May. It is next on my list to replace. He will probaly see around a 5-10HP gain.

Get a Magnaflow. I think you will be very pleased with the sound and it has been proven to flow well.

hey I got a question all I hear is my buddy this I dynoed this anyone got some dyno graphs to prove it, if not your point holds no weight. Like I said there is a post here where someone did the test and posted dyno sheets and from cut-out to flowmaster it was a 8hp lost all that other my sisters cousins baby's car did this on a dyno please spare us the bullshit. Matter of fact here is the post check it out.

Here is my sisters cousins baby's car's dyno graph like I was talking about. Lap 2= cutout closed. Lap 3= cutout open.

I like my magnaflow, but I gained .2 tenths when I opened the cutout at the track on the same night. My car has a cam though.

and the only thing you changed in that was cut-out open I dont believe that you didnt advance any timing anything. I dont see a cut out giving you that much over any cat-back.
