Re: stock 1/4mile times
its possible. but everything has to be 100% like track prep, elevation, launching the car and shifting the car. chevy hiperformance mag. went 12.8 or 12.9 in a 99 z28 at englishtown.

Re: stock 1/4mile times
The times in my sig. are bone stock, including tires that I couldn't launch above 1900 rpms on. So... it's possible, but track times are like fishing stories. Seeing is believing.

Re: stock 1/4mile times
I ran 13.47 at 103.5 on the original GSC's in September 2001 bone stock except for a K & N the previous owner installed. I've witnessed a few stock 2002's running 13.0s, but nothing in the 12s

Re: stock 1/4mile times
A friend of mine ran his '02 SS, 6 speed, with just intake lid and Loudmouth catback, to 12.8-12.9 on street tires at Atco, NJ.
It's definitely possible, and the newer f-body's have a little better chance due to the LS6 intake, and they generally put down a little more power than the previous years.
As was said though, conditions have to be real good, track prep, weather

i did a 12.94 at 109.XX at commerce GA on goodyear eagles with only a lid, no free mods or anything, it was a 2.10 60', also my good friend did a 13.1 is a stock dub with only flows(shh it came with flows, dont worry they are off now) at 107, so i know its possible. Good luck--DJ
both cars are 01's as well, same night it was about 60 outside, his was a mid 2.1 sixty as well.

i was at etown this weekend for slp day also. it was my first time at the track and i have also been driving stick for only 2 months. i managed a 13.4 @107 with my mods in my sig, i guess not that bad for my first time, but i couldnt get any traction, my 60 ft times where horrible, do you guys think lower control arms will help the 60 ft time, do u think i should get the relocation brackets too?

kinda funny, cuz this guy and i go to atco and e-town. he got 12.9 in atco on tuesday night, he said the it was perfect, just like this weekend at e-town. i forgot to mention his car is '02. it was wierd cuz he got out of his sercurity patrol truck and asked if i bought my car July 2002 and im like yup, he then said he saw that car on the elkins lot where i bought it from and he got the SS next to it, i was how the HELL did this guy remember this?? my parents dont even remember, regardless, i was talkin to him for a bit i was late for work at CC

Re: stock 1/4mile times
From what I have seen these cars post numbers anywhere from 12.8 to 14.3 stock. I have heard of people running twelves stock but have not SEEN one do better than 13.7 stock.I ran a 13.7 completely stock. My car would have been faster with better conditions and a better driver. The completely stock '02 Camaro SS convertible running the same day was posting 14.0's and the stock Firehawk convertible this past saturday was running 13.90's-14.2's.I am sure a hardtop stripper would be faster and a good driver would make them faster yet.
The driver and particular car has alot to do with this I am sure. No that doesn't mean they can't or have not run low 13's or high 12's.I personally have no doubts that some people have run these numbers.I am only speaking about my hands on experiences with these vehicles.
I can say that if you plan on running 12's stock you are going to have to be a GREAT driver and have damn near perfect conditions.
If you don't run 12's don't be dissapointed. These cars get faster real quick. My very first run was a 14.0 and it dropped .3 with practice. With two modifications totaling less than $200 my car is running 13.3@103 w/a 1.9 60' on 245/50/16 all season tires.

Re: stock 1/4mile times
My 16 year old brother drove mine to a 13.3 his first time at the track. I had no license due to Ga's gay driving laws. However, I've heard and seen several stock m6 z28s running 13.0-13.2 I've never seen an automatic go lower than mid 13's.

Re: stock 1/4mile times
BONE STOCK on F1's - 12.97 at 109 mph with absolutely NO work done to my car - just many practice runs.
Then with only a lid/fliter = 12.91 at 110 mph.
Added cutout/pulleys/maf = 12.71 at 112 mph.

Re: stock 1/4mile times
i ran my 2001 Z on the original Eagle GA's this past saturday (11th?) 13.03 @ 108.99 with a cut out only and free ram air mod. launching at 2500 with NO spin, it has 15k miles on it and is a 6 speed. i'd try launching at 2200 and seriously bog. it was US 41 raceway in indiana so im not sure of the elevation but obviously its low. it was about 65 degrees out too.
