Cool Headers

So Im in the process of getting headers. I would like to know the difference between long tube and shortys.
Titanium or ceramic.
For Piping, which would be better, x pipe, y pipe, or h pipe?

since you live in cali longtubes are illegal and you will not pass inspection but if you dont care then lt's make better power say 15-20 rwhp on a stock car but shortys barley flow any better that stock manifolds say 2-5 rwhp.

y would only be if you are running single exhaust, h is a decent way to equalize the exhaust pressure if running true duals and x is said to be better for high end power not as much for torque so it depends on what you are doing with the car. both h and definatly x pipes both smooth the exhaust note do to the exhaust pressure and sound equalizing. hope this helps

Ive heard Pacesetters are nice and cheap but take a little bit of wiggling to get em in. Its nothing to really worry about.

There are some headers that have special engineering built into them to reduce the vacuum effect that sometimes takes place inside. I'm not really sure how it all works out but I remember reading it here in one of the stickies. I've heard Kook's are very good.

To each their own.

Pacesetter longtubes gave me some good results, couple the with true duals and you've got a 30 hp increase

I have pacesetters... as do 80% of the people on this board as I always say. We love them, and no they went in super easy for me idk where you heard of that. Just get a Y pipe with a cutout?

I do header swaps for people on the side, and a lot of the people do pacesetters, i also have pacesetters. I think they dont fit as good as hookers, everytime i do a hooker swap, they go in super easy and they sit up higher on the car, that way they dont hit **** on the road all the time. Also hookers come with real o2 extensions, and pacesetter comes with the ones you have to wire up yourself. so thats a $30 difference right there. Also the hooker y's are a lot nice if you went that way and come with band clamps.

if you have to keep it legal high flow cats and Y pipe (random tech). your stock cats are worth $ so dont throw.(platinum). if your car is 98,99 ?00 shorties would benefit you a little aprox 5 rwhp. 01 & 02 have better stock exhaust manifolds. aftermarket cat backs should be legal 4 u such as magnaflow or hooker. i wanted quiet performance so im very happy with my edelbrock RPM. GOODLUCK!
