putting the SS away for the winter
well its that time of the year, i have to put my SS away for the winter. This is the first year that i have a beater, so i need to know what to do.
first of all, i know to clean it, take out the battery, and fill tank of with gas. now, the car wont be garaged, it will be covered. now my question, should i leave it parked in my back yard on grass, or on the driveway?
what else will i need to do?
thanks for the help

The only reason people recommend filling up the gas tank is because older/most cars have metal gas tanks and a lower fuel level would sometimes cause condensation to form at the top, which could cause the tank to rust. Your gas tank is plastic though, only 1998 and earlier models have a metal tanks.
Some guys put the car up on jackstands to keep their tires from forming flat spots from sitting too long. I'd definitely park it on the driveway. If it gets really cold up there, you might consider draining the coolant and wiper fluid reservoir. Better safe than sorry I suppose, you don't want those to freeze.
I don't envy you northern guys, it never snows in Houston

I'm glad I live in Houston! No snow and maybe one month of cold weather. (off and on). But we sure do get alot of rain though. But at least I get to drive my car year round!

Haha, Tampa here, winter only means I can drive it more. I go faster when it's cold. So I don't have to garage'er, no snow at all, just rain, and sometimes rain. Always seems to rain on track day too.
I'm just yanking yalls chain. My uncle has a 10s Nova, and an 11s LS1 Vette, both of which were garaged last trip up to Delaware. I hated that, nothing like a 10 second street legal nova and alot of straight roads.
