Well the special cars will be worth the most.

The ZL-1 camaro's , Berger camaro's the few 02 Hot Rod editions, Blackbirds,Intimidator SS'sall these I think will be the most desirable LS1 cars

Why do you say 2000 Z's? If you are refering to the paint hell, id rather have a 99 Hugger Orange SS.

I was joking about 2000's but I know automatic Z's are depreciating faster then a crack ho in a convent.

only special models like wretcher said will hold some kind of "relative" value. but lets face it, the fbody depreciation goes down the *******. one reason i picked up my 98 so cheap

The aniversary firebirds, the SS's/Firehawks, the hugger orange, anything with no miles on it, and personally I'd like one of the Cormaro's

The anniversary models seem to be worth more
but ask anyone whose had one..try to find someone
to pay premium money for it because it has a couple decals.
The fact of the matter is that while the numbers are down
now I think they are bottoming out. Someone is ALWAYS
going to want a go fast car. Keep it in good condition
and forget what the book says. Look up the price on
an excellent condition 87 IROC 350 or a 91 5sp Z28, then look
at what they sell for on the market. You can get 10 easily
yet people are getting LS1's for 12 and less. Wait til
a whole bunch more end up beaten on, wrecked, or rusted
out, lets face it there isn't a ton of them out there
already-if there were GM wouldn't have quit selling them.

Cars, especially like ours, do not make for good investments at all. If your just posing the question, I'd say some of the rarer cars would pull the most cash, but all in all, forget about making a monetary investment in an F-body.

cars are hardly investments. If you look at a car that way you'll always lose. mods, repairs etc.

Why do you think rich folks lease? They can dog the **** out a car, then return it after 1-3 years, and some suckah buys it off the lot all dogged out. Only 2nd to a rental car lol.

Leasing is more sensical. You just drive a really pimp car and write it off your tax expenses.

Wouldn't you rather be seen in a vette? I know i would. I could care less 5 years from now i'll probably switch up again.

I don't think anyone is especially me was trying
to call it an investment, but amount of depreciation.
I say its bottoming out as we've taken the big hit.

Now leasing is like renting and thats throwing money
away. When you buy its your to resall. You didn't just
give the money away, you bought equitity. A car does
not depreciate 400 a month until it is worthless.
Most rich people buy outright or they are the ones
qualifing for zero APR. Rich people make money off banks
and poor people make banks money through one making interest
and the other paying interest. Think about it the people who
really don't need loans get the lower rates and those struggling
pay out the ***. Someone not to well off ends up paying
20+ for a Cavalier with a 14 MSRP. A rich person just pays 14.

Also, I dont think there will be a valuable A4 out there, I think the only "collector cars" will be M6s.

Look at the past for an answer to your question....Special "dealer" models, The SS, Firehawk, & WS6 cars, Low mile cars, Convertibles....will all have slightly better values than the rest. In 20 years people will be seeking out these kinds of cars first. But DO NOT think about any current car as an investment...enjoy it, beat it, drive it!

i agree with 98droptopss. The # of cars made make it a non collectors car. Go look on ebay for LT1's and see how they are holding up in value, even the special editions. I surely did before i looked at the ls1, and it was sad to see them going for 4-5K in unmodded shape, (no i didn't bother to check them out).

In then end no matter what ya do, you lose money on the sale. I bought my car used to avoid the first 2 year depreciation. The PO had been trying to sell it for 4 months with no biters (autotrader $$ and ebay $$ fees).

If you were to store your "berger" or elite limited run version car and hardly put miles on it (what fun is that) someday someone might pay more than its worth, but damn that sucks. I'd rather drive my shiz and when i get tired of it dump it for the next guy.

See all those cars in the for sale forum, especially the ones where folks have put 10-20K into them, they sure aren't gonna get their cash back out of them.

Good buyers market for used cars right now. I don't see alot of ls1's selling on ebay for much. Hell i saw an 00 z28 like mine go for $8500 on ebay with about 80-90K miles, unmodded (it looked) and in good shape from a non-winter state. Thats downright sad. Someone paid $20K + taxes and all that and 3 years later its worth $8500. hmm.

definitely not an investment. But doesn't stop us from having fun with what we got.

I'm not trying to argue. just saying these aren't hot cars in terms of value and depreciation.

go to ebay , do a search on completed items of the car you have, and look at how many sold, what they sold for, and how many never met reserve and you'll get a good pic of what the value is.

cheers have a good holiday and enjoy the car.

Ebay is absolutly no judge of market and value.
A lot of things are sold ridiculusly low which is
why I shop there myself. Ever wonder how that
New in the box $500 DVD player is 150...you don't
want to..plead the 5th.

As far as cars go a HUGE percentage of buyers are
taken out of the equation because 1. you buying it
without seeing it or driving it. 2. Financing options
are extremely limited 3. Delivery
Look at blue book values for a more accurate judgement.

Yes all high mileage vehicles sell for less, would you pay
the same for one with 90K as one with half, common sense.

I still don't really see anyone saying these are collectors
pieces yet everyone says I agree with "X" who said they
aren't, there has been to counter arguement. Some like
myself simply state the amount of DEpreciation never the
Appreciation.

Also as LT1 prices are concerned, thats what happens when
an "improved" model comes out. Look at C4 when C5 came
out and guess what will happen to C5 when C6 hits the dealers.
But we have the last model.

the last model? The lt1's were the last model. Sooner or later the camaro will be back, and we'll be the last model.
