Default Real SS or not ?

Have the chance to buy this 2000 A4 w 98k for 4200.00. Local Chevy dealer says it's an SS, but another dealer says it just has the SS appearance package.
Thoughts ?

Thanks in advance.

Nope I say bs. Its a z28. Theres no ss hood, or ss wheels, post pics of the spoiler ss is raised and has 2 pillars in the middle. To be sure look for code WU8 on the ds door that would be the code for an ss.

OOps missed the spoiler pic. Thats a regular spoiler. Say false advertisement and knock some cash off. A chevy dealer should be able to tell a real ss.

The SS is basically just an appearance package. A few got gears, bilstien upgraded suspension, chrome wheels, and/or catbacks. There were bunches of options. The basic SS was badges, hood, spoiler, and silver wheels. All of which can be removed easily.

It's more than just an appearance package. In addition to the cold air induction hood, the SS had stiffer springs, and shocks as well as larger diameter sway bars. RPO WU8 is the designation for the SS Performance and Appearance Package. If you don't see the WU8 code on the option sticker, it's not an SS.

That is not stock exhaust either, sticks out too far. Looks like sombody stuck a SS emblem on the back. Make sure it's got 8 spark plugs.

Get the vin # and call SLP they'll be able to tell you but I'd say . Who would have an SS and take off the hood, spoiler, and down grade wheels from 17's to 16's!!

Wow.

Have you gotten to check if the WU8 is on the RPO code list? Im just wondering if its been wrecked and fixed half assed and thats why the hood, spoiler, and wheels are gone.

Something sounds fishy to me.
