My First LS6/LSX Need help on parts
My list starts with
1. RHS 210 Heads ($3,400) or CNC 200 Aluminum Heads ($1,500)?
2. XR281HR Cam, Custom AFR Cam, or Lunati Voodoo Cam?
3. Crane Quick-Lift Roller Rockers 1.8:1 or COMP RPM valvetrain?
4. Full Borla Exhaust?
5. FAST LSX Intake Manifold?

2. If your going Forced induction you want a cam for either a blower or turbo.
3. If you get a cam you dont want 1.8 rockers, the stock ls1/ls6 rockers are a very good unit. (save your self $400)
4. Headers , Y pipe, and cat back if your going with a blower, manifolds or turbo headers for turbo.
4. KOOK's or ARH headers, off road Y pipe, Hooker or magnaflow cat back get my vote VS the borla.
5. If going FI the ls6 intake will be just fine. (save your self $800)
6. ??? is this ls6 going in a non lsx car? The stock computer can be tuned with out any problems.
7. If going FI ditch the MAF and go with a speed density tune (2 or 3 bar MAP)
8. Is your bottom end stock? Procharger gets my vote.
9. Forced induction is not cheap and will require alot of patience.

especially the Speed density tune?
Why will F.I. require alot of patience?
What headers should I get if I go with the Procharger? (I won't get the procharger for a couple years) What should I get for headers for now? Same?
Is AFR good quality?

AFR's are a very good head (one of the best). They also have thicker decks which helps with keeping the heads from lifting under higher boost.
Cam... superchargers like more exhaust lift and duration VS intake, and a higher lsa 114-117 is where you want to be.
Headers... I'm very happy with my KOOK's, they are stainless and are still looking good 5 years later. ARH are stainless too and have gotten great reviews. They are pricey but worth it IMHO.
SD... With more boost you will max out the MAF, it wasn't designed to see that much air. So you change out the 1 bar map sensor in the back of the intake manifold to a 2 or 3 bar depending on how much boost your going to run. You gain tuning capabilities in the higher rpms VS the MAF.
The pricey and patiencet part, it's not as simple as bolting a blower on and calling it a day. The fuel system has to be able to handle it, I have about 1,100 in my fuel system right now and thats just a dual pump, injectors, and gauge. Eventually I'll need a bigger feed line, rails, and regulator. My forged moter cost me about 7K to build, The blower with upgrades cost another 6,500, clutch/flywheel was 900, suspention was another 1,000. I just got a methanol kit that was 550, and saving for a 12 bolt rear end for 2,600 2 trips to the dyno so far 1,000. I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting. So unless you have deep pockets to get every thing at once you'll need patience not to push things untill the whole package is complete.

Well I plan on starting with the basic engine with a couple mods and add on and rebuild over the years. Is that ok?

If were me, I would get the basic bolt ons done and work on the rear end and suspention. Then build a complete engine with heads and a cam for FI. All the boltons can be swaped over. The main reason for this is because you also want to lower the compression about a point for FI. So if you add heads with a big combustion chamber on a N/A engine it will be sluggish untill you boost it.

The 72cc combustion chambers will help lower compression and you could use a -2 or -4 dish piston to be in the lower 9:1 compression ratio on a 346/347 ci engine.

I'm looking to be in the 11 second club. Idk what I want Exactly yet. I want the LS6 block and I'm lookin to try to get around 550 hp. but I also want the car to be a DD so give or take a few mods but I want it to still be fast as hell with around 20-22 mpg. So what do you guys think?

With headers, Y pipe, and a catback you'll be in the 350-360 rwhp range through a 6 speed. Build your self a moter with a procharger and feed it 8-10 #'s of boost and you'll have your 550 rwhp goal at your elevation.

Cheap. Stock bottom end with rod bolts, prc 2.5 5.3 heads, ms4, Lt's, magnaflow, cutout. Ls6 intake, cold air, FUEL PUMP, plugs, wet plate kit, midwest fab 9, tq arm, lcas, clutch, master cylinder, tranny build Will get you all up in the 10's if you want. Should still get around 20 mpg.
Expensive....you could do any manner of fi, or an all motor build and achieve the same results, the hard part is going to be to get the rest of the car to comply with the power.
How you feel about power adders, and your budget would help. I think it should be a sticky that if you are going to ask "how should I do this?" that it should be a requirement to give what you want to to, budget, how far you are willing to take the car, etc.

As for now, my budget is going to be under $3 thousand. I know the procharger will be Quite a big lump sum of money so I'm gonna sit back and wait on that for a couple years.
Also, I need a full parts list that will get me up to 450-500 hp for less than 3 grand.

Okay, 3000... Headers, ory or x pipe (pick your flavor), catback, intake (depending on your year), cold air, Clutch, for starters. Nitrous kit fuel pump, plugs, and a tune would get you in the 11's and probably still be under budget. Cam only would be the same if you got a decent sized one.If you don't wanna go that route, i would spend the other ~1000 on suspension. Yes, by rest of the car I mean tranny/rear end/suspension. The stickies in all of the sections are pretty educational as well.
