Default Change Oil Light is on? tried the following

My change oil light came on when my oil level got low. I was running Royal Purple, but i was eating it up after my Cam/Valve train install. When the light came on, i changed the oil to Red line, no consumption problems now, but the change oil light is still on when i start the car and remains on for a minute or so. I have disconnected the battery and it still comes on when i start the car. What gives?
Thanks

Scoobs

you need to hold the trip reset button for 15 seconds with the key on to reset the oil monitor system

.
What he said ... Also make sure the key is in the ON position like he said, but NOT actually running. Car off, turn key to the on position, hold down trip reset for 15 seconds, let it go, oil light goes out, you're done.

For future reference, the "CHANGE OIL" comes on every couple thousand miles, regardless of the oil's actual status (whether or not it has been changed, the condition of the oil, and how much there actually is). The "LOW OIL" light will come on when there is less then about 4 quarts of oil.

isn't there something like where you turn the key on but dont start the car press the pedal three times then start it. Does that reset the oil light possibly?

Also if you ignore it it will go off after a certain mileage and reset itself...

To get my oil change light to go out, I have to turn the ignition key to the on position (don't start the car) and press the accelerator pedal down to the floor three times (within 5 seconds of each other).
