1999 Formula WS6
I just bought a 99' trans am formula. I read there was only 175 " ws6" models made in 99? is that true and is there any way to tell what number of 175 it was by the VIN or anything else?
So far has been a great car, is stock except for a lowering kit which makes it look a bit better i think.
Any input will help, thanks alot!

If you have a Formula WS6, then yes for '99 there were only 175 making it a very rare car.
As for your build number, ASC did the conversion on these and used to provide the build number if you gave them a VIN, but I have no idea what their current contact info is, or if they still do this.

What he said. Another way of checking is to see your RPO codes. I can't remember off the top of my head, but trans ams and formula's had different codes. A real ws6 will flat out have ws6 in those codes too. You can find them on a little sticker on the driver side door.

If in fact you have a WS6 Formula, all I can say is you lucky bastid!
I LOVE thos things, and they're one of the rarest 'Birds. I really wanted one, but I had a hard enough time finding a regular Formula, never mind a WS6!

Thanks for the input, I do indeed have a formula ws6. it is titled as a trans am formula with optional ws6 package. I found it a few weeks ago, 75,xxx miles and in good shape. I never really followed these cars but am very impressed with it so far. I will look in the door jam for any numbers info.

EDIT: Did the Formula WS6s still have the same body as a V6?!?

You definitely have a Trans Am WS6, not a Formula WS6. That one pic is all we need to tell.
So, your car is not 1 of 175, it's more like 1 of several thousand that have the same trim level.

I am not sure. Like i said it says formula on the title. I have also seen pics of formulas with the same front end i have and some with the same as the LE or what ever the model was that only a few were produced.

Every V8 LS1 Bird starts off as a "Formula". Then when the Y82 option, the Trans Am option, is added, it will now state on a title it's called "Formula Trans Am". It's lame, I know, but if you had a Formula, it would say "Formula" on the door and have the base Firebird nose with the foglights towards the outside of the nose.
And, since you can't change your username, I'd prolly just start a new account.
