Default Which direction should I go with modifications? Opinions very welcome!

I have a (new to me) 2000 Z28. 6 Speed

I bought it with 27000 mi. for 12K...

I took it to the track for the first time this weekend, and had a best run of 13.618 at 102.75... Damn good for here in Hawaii..

Now the go fast bug has bitten me, and I don't know what to do. I'm tempted to just buy a Whisper Lid and add a hundred shot of nitrous on it. But that just seems to easy.

Previous owner was into dragging so the suspension is pretty set. BMR Trak Pak and SFC's. All I can think of for that is control arms.

Do you guys think that I should just forget Nitrous and get a lid, cam, and full exhaust?

Feel free to chime in.. sorry this was so long..

your on the right track with the bolt ons. juice is nice but get the power without the bottle . what i suggest you do is take the time out and read. theres a wealth of threads that'll give you the info you need to get started.

Lid, Headers, Exhaust? See where your at then go from there. I was gonna see what the best time I could pull off with BoltOns only, but I found a good deal with some internals so there goes that idea.

Default What do you guys think of this setup for starters?

Thanks alot..

How does this setup sound?

LS1Motorsports LID: $75
Pacesetter Coated Long Tube Headers w/Smog $375
Pacesetter Offroad Y Pipe $125
Magnaflow Catback $430

Grand Total: $1005

the first mod i do in just about every car i've owned was get some good sticky tires on there. my rule of thumb i live by is my mods are only as good as the traction i can get. your list is good for bolt ons. but id suggest a set of tires to go with it, atleast out back. if you are looking for a track king, get a nitrous kit man. im a juice head, i've juiced every car i've owned with only a mustang not liking it much. damn t5's are peices of ****. anyhow...you can't beat the bang for the buck and when you dont feel like having too much power (i like to drive granny style when my girlfriend is in the car) you just dont turn it on. its a personal preference. however i'll be getting some long tubes soo because the damn mod bug musta bit me on both butt cheeks.

so anyways...my .02 is get a set of dr's with that list and you'll be happy. all that should shave a considerable amount of time off your quartermile times i woudl think, but im just a newbie perhaps someone who has more experience will chime in
good luck man
safe and happy driving
