Good: They look cool.
Bad: They cost money.
That's pretty much it, they don't do anything for performance (at least I noticed nothing).
If you are looking for better/sharper turn-in get a bigger (35mm) front swaybar. If you are looking for better all around handling with a more solid/ stable/planted feel get good shocks.

I have a question about this same thing. Will this make the chassis more ridgid on a convertible? I have a 98 vert that seems to have a lot of flex. Looking for advice to stiffen it up. I am sorry if I hi-jacked your thread.

Your really want sub frame connectors...STB mainly for looks but in "theory" cant hurt either.

I've owned some cars that have come with factory STBs, so they must be good for something in at least some applications. Whether or not they make a significant difference in an F-body is questionable, but they certainly can't hurt. Only downsides (other than cost) are the added weight and one more thing to remove when working on the engine (plug changes, etc.).

I can say that when I installed my Edelbrock 3 point STB, I could feel the car grab the grooves in the road more when driving straight. It was like the front end was flexing less so the tires were forced to follow the road. You dont notice it anymore after a few miles and it just feels normal again. Dunno if they are really worth the money but to each their own.

The STBs on the F-Body does help plus it's a cheap added insurance if you have t-tops and are pushing power. First mods should be SFCs and and STB. I prefer the three point SFCs and the two point STB. I do not care for the 3 point STBs.

I personally put on a STB, and 3 point SFC. (actually bought from BYUNSPEED, however they did not influence my opinion.) I installed my STB first then took for a drive. I ran through some hard corners etc. I'd say by seat of the pants it helps. It's got to. I don't see how it can't. If anything it will help my low mile car keep its shape over time. Just my 0.02

Sam Strano says STB's do nothing for these cars and I'll take that mans word for it. Think of how many he could have sold if he hyped them.......

If they are worthless you shouldn't sell them. People buy online all the time. So a person who may buy them is buying something a seller thinks is worthless. Is that good?

I sell them and push them because I believe they work.

for all of you who think they dont help. Take some corners with it on then take it off and do it again. You will notice it once its gone, you get use to it when its on your car.

I also have the SLP 3pt subframe connectors installed They def. helped as well. If I could do it again they would of been the first things I put on my car.

I could see a STB helping more than just cornering. Seems like drag racers hanging the wheels could benefit from the extra support.

The argument against that is bc factory suspension sucks thats why they (a STB) appear to help. Get better suspension and they will no longer feel like they are helping. I posted my direct experience with mine and Im not gonna argue anyone is wrong or right here. But 2 valid sides to the argument

Trust me, I get it. However, thats not very realistic. Businesses aren't businesses bc they are pushing/selling only products they believe in, they sell what makes money. If someone will buy it, 99.9% of businesses will sell it. That's reality.

All I can tell you is Sam told me I would gain nothing but extra weight w/ a STB. IIRC he had them on his Z28 at one time and took it off. I also do not believe he had them on when he won his SCCA championships in the Z when he still ran that car. If they actually helped his car I am sure he would have stuck with them........

Sam sells people only what he thinks they need and doesn't push unnecessary stuff just to make a few more bucks and see how deep he can get in somebody's pocket. For example when I bought my suspension kit from him I was ready to buy a LCA relo kit. He told me some cars need it and some don't and just try it out and see where I was. Well I cut low 1.6 60 foot times with no wheelhop so he was right. Hope to see some 1.5's with my new heads and will evaluate from there.

But I will tell you this. I will continue to support Sam just because of his no BS approach and sales ethic and if I do need anything I will look to get it from him first...

Too many vendors here and elswhere will say anything just to make a buck off you but with Sam you get his honest opinion and not a BS sales pitch......
