I think a ported TB is more about flow/velocity than it is volume. The TB is still 75mm(or is it 78) before and after.

I think TB is more for improved throttle response than it is horsepower. I've never actually seen proof of a tb swap alone making more power on a dyno or reducing et's on a LS1. Same goes for LS2!

Might want to think again or reword that sentence.

only reason i said dont do to auto's is because i have been told it can mess with your shifting points, but never really had any proof in that either, seen auto cars with screen out and had no problems to

anytime you can get 210 deg coolant out of your TB is a great thing My TB would burn you hand if you opened the hood now its barely warm

Why? You're not warming up the air going through the throttle body at all - the air isn't there nearly long enough to gain any appreciable heat.

I think some people are forgetting that a ported throttle body should include the bumpstop mod, and could gain a little more with the half shaft mod.

Removing the top/front of the throttle blade shaft. A little less obstruction.

I know this is newbie tech but there is alot of misinformation here. EGR and AIR removal won't really gain any power. Less weight and bullshit under the hood and the AIR pump is annoying. No the AIR pump is not fed from the manifolds, it feeds into them though. It is fed from the lid. 01-02 cars never had EGR becuase they come with a LS6 intake which has no provision from GM and with the cam design change EGR wasn't needed. TB bypass wont gain a whole lot but hell why not. Besides it makes it easier when you port the TB. MAF screen, descreen if ya want to. Improved throttle response but not a whole lot of gain. Can mess with auto shift point. I'm SD as well so screw MAF's. FRA? Might gain ya a little bit but kill IAT's in traffic. If you want a bottem feeder, and there are gains to be had here, get a FTRA or the Chris1313.

Yea that does nothing for hp. It's nice to not lose any coolant when you remove the tb though lol but that's bout all its good for!

The best.

I'd say the most effective free mod other than weight reduction would be porting the tb. FRA is ****, all that will do is pull in a lot of hot air. And descreening the MAF is fine, just don't port it!
