Maybe you would not have bought it at all if you knew, or maybe you would have?
Maybe he would have or wouldnt have but he did regardless if he knew it was or wasnt real. So I would say WOULD HAVE. Its obvious to a lot of us that it might not be but it turned out that it was real.
Either way, if you would have bought this car anyways, who cares right? If not, go back and see if you can talk them into some type of "deale-o"
Yea I just paid you 18K for a car thats worth maybe 12 & was wondering if I could get some kind of deale-o?

(free oil changes for twenty years or somethin'- lol jk.). But in reality, all of these fbodys, when equipped with ls1 motors (and lt1 is great too imho) are fabtastic!
& LT1s are fabtastic too!

Some have this and some have that, but at the end of the day it is a nice looking car with a nice powerplant to me. Don't worry, be happy. Nice car, whether it is an SS or not.
I know how some people are, they see something & they just have to have it, regardless of price. Maybe this is one of those cases. It does look like a clean car, did the OP post up the odometer?

Also I agree that the TT2s are overplayed. Stick with that or go to something unique, just not anything larger than 17 inches though Mine are chrome "Dale Earnhardt edition-Killers-" They are 17s, but in person they almost look smaller. In person, they are mean looking but totally different than anything that I would have run before, but quite honestly they have grown on me. They look great and I get a lot of looks (and not just from Harley fanatics who love screaming eagles/firebirds and chrome ). But big ricer rims aren't the way to go imo. Dyno killing and rice looks aren't the number one goal to most of us . But be unique, if you do that you'll get to find out what YOU like, not everyone else. Good luck

yea i wouldn't have given over 12 for it...and it doesn't take much to turn a Z into a SS but you might as well just build it up greater than a stock SS while your at it!

Wow, $18k, I don't want to think what my SS cost me new with financing etc! The value on these cars sure has dropped- although my car has fewer than 20 000 mi it isn't worth very much. Probably wouldn't get much more than what the OP paid...

Most of the time those people are bullshitting.

I was offered $10k once for a 100k mile '89 Formula 350, when the car was about 10 years old. That didn't work out either.

And anyway, TT2s are not nearly as common on these cars as C4 ZR1s and C5 Z06s, yet those still look great too. I don't see very many F-bodies on the road these days, but 90% of the ones I do see have stock wheels, so anything aftermarket is going to stand out.

I think this thread is pointless now, since someone already posted that the GM VIS shows the WU8 code for the car, meaning that it IS a real SS. So what's the problem?

I think this was covered already, but absolutely NONE of the LS1 WS6s ever went to SLP. They were all done by ASC.
Yeah I read something to that effect too actually (after the fact), ooops my bad.

We have established, you don't qualify to comment anymore in this thread pertaining to anything to do with SLP.

The top picture is the "extra content" sticker that was put on at the SLP factory. Not all SSs got this sticker, only the ones that got extra mods over and above the hood/spoiler/wheels. Bottom sticker is the standard SLP sticker that every SS got before leaving the SLP factory.

ALL SSs are SLP cars. Say it. All SSs are SLP cars. One more time for the hard headed. ALL SSs ARE SLP CARS.
Oh no, "misinformation" in noobie tech lol? ASC made all WS6s is the correct answer I guess. I don't know why I thought otherwise I'm not too interested in SS cars personally but I did know that they were all made by SLP. *edited for your convenience
