Default which way to go? 383..408..427 stroker?

I'm. In the process of doing a complete engine rebuild on my 98ws6. My goal is 500 horsepower or more with a budget of $10,000 or less. I want it to be naturally aspirated motor with a chance maybe in the future for a supercharger addition. I'm open to any engine combinations that is given. Thanks for you help in advance.

If you can swing it with your budget, the 427's extra bore opens up the ability to run the LS7 heads and thereby the ability to make some VERY nice power above and beyond your average cathedral port or L92 heads make!

500hp to the crank or wheels?

Also, if you are building a motor for boost, its going to be completely different than how you would build a motor to stay n/a. Just something to keep in mind when picking your motor.

Thanks for all who has giving me some pointers so far. A 427 stroker is my ultimate goal, and no I haven't bought anything yet I'm trying to get a gameplan together by january. While I'm in iraq my engine, transmission, rearend, and everything else that goes along with performance will be done. Oh and to answer the question about 500 horsepower goal...that's to the wheels. Gladly appreciate any suggestions on where to get my performance parts from.( no places where they are out to just make a quik buck)

I really appreciate all suggestions. I'm looking for a very reliable engine combination that runs great on 91 octane gas that will reach all my goals.
