Default 99 formula a4 $9,000 is it a good deal?

hey guys finally found a older ls1 formula with 92,000 miles, its a auto with t-tops cloth seats and the stupid 2.73 gears i think, has steel ds right? anyway its a NBM color in good shape, not perfect. think $9,000 is a decent price. has power windows and locks also. it has zero mods

Think the steel drive shaft is a given with those gears. Those are a lot of miles, but I guess price is dictated by what the market will bear. I know my 02 with taxes and interest will cost me 30K, although I am paying the car off early so say 28-28.5. The big difference between 30k and 9k, I guess, will you get 9k worth of happiness out of it? If yes, and would not get 9K worth of happiness from another car than go for it. I know I like my 30K unadulterated sample .
Regards,

2.73's are great. Great gas mileage. Find a used rear end for $300 and swap it to 3.42's if you want but if you're looking for a daily that gets gas mileage (for an a4) can't beat them 2.73's. and you'll never break them just put her on the hose if you need to go fast.

got two stock rears in the garage now. one 4 channel with 3.42's out of the one i have now and a housing for a 99 3 channel from my old car. can put the gears in the old housing and swap in the whole unit, but i think ill just put in my 4 channel 12-bolt and say screw the rear abs for now since it is a 3 channel car.

don't hate, i love my 2.73's. 26mpg running on the highway with a couple of sprints to over 110mph pooping on a rustang.

I hope that your serious about the roll eyes, swaping all that is a ton of work! That is why I am selling my vette. I want a 6 speed, and the fact that the LS1 is an awesome powerplant, the fbody has a solid axle, 4 seats, and actually have turbo kits out there in the aftermarket! I thought you wanted a stripper hardtop car? I'd get a 98 hardtop Z28, m6, roll up windows etc. I like the Z28's for racing because the front grill is huge, perfect for a front mount, as you can tell, I'm obsessed with turbos!

actually im probably going to do it if you can believe it. an by my self at that. if i do and i sell the car for a decent price i should come out 7k ahead. which means paying of the z71 and droping full coverage. therfore 500 a month for mods also the power windows are actuall lighter i heard from alot of people they just cost more thats why they have manuals in 1le cars the gears and crap are heavier than the lil pis on motor we have. also the formula is very light.

$9K? To me w/those miles it wouldn't be worth that much, but it's not too bad, either...

Good luck anyway!

Yeah the formulas and camaros are the lightess, what are you planning on doing with this car? Mod wise? Well good luck with the car, let us know what it dyno's at. I'd be curious to see myself, since I plan on buying a decent mileaged one, 40-50k miles.

i got a lid/catback on my stock run (and nitto 555R's @ 27hot). For reference, the mileage on the motor is 70K (trans too). It has 2.73's. It ran 13.7@103.45mph at a crappy track (hot/high humidity). There were some cars struggling to break 14's all night all (Camaro's) which i found odd.

Given the 2.73's and 70K miles, lid/catback, and probably lower than normal pressure on tires, that unlocked run wasn't bad (red lines iirc ) in my sig.

plan on transfering every thing from the 01, and maby the tranny, not sure yet if not i will get a ypt 4400 and a set of gtp stage 2 heads with the tr236 cam. eventually a forged 346 w/11.1 comp. and some 28x11.5 et drags. that should cover it for a while(6months )
