Picked up a trans am.. finally
After 6 weeks of searching I finally found something and picked it up.
2000 NBM Trans am, M6 with 97k miles. All stock to the exception of a flowmaster weld-in. Owner had it since 14k, it is in really good shape and it was obviously maintained well, he wanted 8k but he took my 7k offer. Really satisfied will my find. I'll have pics up asap.
Any suggestions of a 100k mile tune-up?

Yeah - make sure your block isn't cracked (my experience)
Do plugs and wires.
Change your basic fluids. Pay special attention to the oil coming out, and coolant.
Fuel filter can't hurt.
Air filter.
Enjoy your car! I had a 98 NBM Trans Am. Enjoy the finest colour offered for the F-Body series.

Okay thats what I would expect to do, just was wondering if there was anything ls1-specific I wanted to pay special attention to.
Also, I know 91 octane is reccomended for the ls1, but is it 100% neccessary?

I wish we had 93 up here(northern california) but 91 is the best they can do. But.. there is a gas station about 20 miles away that has race gas on one of their pumps

Push rods don't bend due to mileage. They do sometimes get bent on these engines (or any OHV engine), but it's not due to mileage. Usually it's a result of missed shifts/hard rev limiter contact/mechanical over-rev - and that can happen at any mileage.

The bad thing is I wanted a ws6 so bad. But ended up with a Z/28.lol But I really like my car. It was stock when I bought it. Cleanest car I ever seen I think. Bought it from a older lady. She even had it in storage when I bought it. Some day I'll get my ws6!! The lady had a vert mustang and that was her toy.
