Default Is it a real SS?

I just ran a carfax on a supposedly SS camaro but it came back just a Z28. Does it actually show up as SS on a carfax? is it considered an aftermarket add-on. Please someone HELP!

Yes, the cars are actually Z28s with a post-assembly factory authorized conversion to an SS by SLP Engineering.

look on your door sticker at the RPO list, if it has code # WU8, then it's an SS, from the factory all V8 cars are a Z28, and it will always show up on a carfax that way, the SS is considered an extra "package" just like power windows or leather seats

^^^^^^^ The last two posts above are both correct.... The sticker is on the driver door and if it is missing a dealer can run the VIN in the GM database (different from Carfax) or you can call SLP directly and they can tell you...

Not all V8 Camaro's are a Z28. B4C's don't all have the Z28 RPO.

^^True. My old B4C was simply a base Camaro with a Z28 powertrain. It was not a Z28 though.

this works, you can call SLP and they'll ask for the last 8 digits of the vin....if it is an SS, they can tell you all of the options they added
