First of all let me start by saying that all of you are awesome. I have been reading many articles on this sight for about 6 months now. I finally decided to join and become a newbie to this site.
I recently purchased my uncles 1998 Camaro Z28 Convertable 6 speed. It has 10,200 miles on it. I have put a lid on it, otherwise is it completely stock. I am looking at a couple of items and would like some input.
1. Where is a good place to buy a NEW LS6 Intake Manifold. I have seen them on JEGS for $800+ and other places for about $550. Is there a difference between the two? At $800.00 i will buy a used one....at $500 i will buy new. Any input would be great.
2. I am in the process of lowering the car . I bring this up because i am also going to be purchasing a set of headers to install. I have seen many threads on different types of exhaust. I was dead set on true dual exaust, until i started reading and seeing pictures of some of your cars. Am i going to have clearence if i want true duals and a lowering kit? It seems to me, that if i am going to be lowering the car, i may be better suited to utilize a Y pipe instead of true duals, as the true duals do not tuck up under the car as well. Any insight from others on this would be great!
Again, thank you in advance. I tried to search onsite to see if anyone had posted anything on these two topics prior to posting as there are many topics on both.
Thanks,
