T/A gauge in vent
Is there a write up for this somewhere? I've tried searching with no luck. I would like to put a gauge in one of my center vents on the dash. Thanks

You can buy the 2 5/8" gauges and they fit perfect or you can buy an adapter (Ithink from Speed Inc.) and it allows you to use the 2 1/16" gauges.
I did this a while back in my 94 Formula and it was easy. You just have to remove the Vent, and you'll have to remove the trim piece around the stereo and possibly the 1 under the steering wheel so you can get a power source from the fuse box. Once you feed the wires through, there is an opening in there where you can feed the wires werever you need to run them to. It's pretty simple really!
Good Luck
And do a search you might find some writeups about it. Or look in the appearance and detailing section.

if you use the 2 1/16" gauge, you will need an adaptor. as stated above, speedinc.com and 6LE offer an adaptor. I followed this writeup when I installed my aeroforce in my center vent.

edit: if you choose this method, be VERY CAREFUL when removing and inserting the adaptor into the vent ring. my ring shattered into 3 pieces upon second trial fit. glued together and installed, you cant tell tho. The plastic gets very brittle over the years.

I guess they will fit. looking at a measurement converter, 60mm is 2.36 inches. Looks like the 60mm is between the two common 2 1/16 and 2 5/8. So you may need an adaptor of some kind as the 2 5/8 (65mm) fit tightly in the vent.

How have you never head of a 60mm gauge? 52mm and 60mm are the 2 most common sizes. Pods come in 52 or 60mm.

I don't know what your objective is but it is not hard to find gauges that are in a 60mm size and if your "little" brother has "those" kind of gauges in his WRX then you already know there are 60mm gauges.

They may be in ricer cars but they are better than Autometer. I tried to find the article that put these gauges head to head and most were better than the Autometer but then again they are also $200+ gauges each.
