Angry Knock, Tick, lifter, piston slap?

I have owned my ls1 For about 2 months. Only driven once a week with only 55,7xx miles this thing has given me more problems than my old lt1 . From a bad tensioner to a rear end side bearing and then a bad u-joint. This engine also makes wierd noises but are these wierd noises normal? I know this has been discussed over 1 million times. But, Ok here it goes. When i start the car up its quiet with a loud sewing machine noise" well, sort of." A couple of seconds later it starts sounding like a small diesel. After driving it for a little bit or until it completely reaches operating temp it goes away, but the sound is still present at low rpms. You can hear it while its decelerating. Here's the video showing the symptom :/.

Actually it was at operating temp. when it's cold you can hear it all the time. when its warm Its only at low rpms around 1500 and only during decel. If it is the lifter what lifters would you recommend to purchase? Spring, pushrods? I was planning to change the heads in future but right now im broke haha oh one more things whats the worse that can happen with a bad lifter(s)?

You could pick up some new LS7 lifters for a good price.

Things can get pretty hairy if a lifter goes. It could drop the roller in your motor for example.

GM put LS7 lifters in my SS under warranty. Didn't change a thing. It has 52,000 on it now and is just as noisey as the day I bought it.

My Z28 has 98,000 on it. That diesel sound you hear is piston slap, the tapping is the normal lifter noise.

Sounds normal with a little piston slap. Mine sounds like my neighbor's f-250 diesel in the mornings.
No worries :-)

I thought piston slap was louder with a deeper sound. We had An 00 silverado that would slap on real cold days but would go away in a matter of seconds but ill take your guys' advice and live with it but heres another video though lol

Since it only does it when warming up and while its fully warm when
decelerating or idling down it might be the lifters who knows. Where would i be able to get those ls7 lifter. Do you know any good websites?

I am local to WS6 Store so I buy pretty much everything there. They tend to have the best prices as well.

Sounds like mine has since the day I got it. It also sounds like nearly every other f body I hear running around. and every other gm vehicle that we own. The sound still bugs the hell out of me but it's run the same way for the last 2 years. I had a bunch of people tell me that was a rod knocking in it would die any day. I wouldn'tthrow any money at the engine until you're ready to do upgrades.

Total waste of money. It's going to sound the same when you're done. You do know you have to take the heads off to change them right?
