Default torque converter for stock cam/heads

Hey, i have been looking at getting a tc for my car which i only want to do bolt ons to. I think i want a stall speed in the 3200-3600 range. I was just wondering if anyone had opinions on brands and stall speed. Thanks guys!

yank ss3200 i have a ss3600 and for a daily driver i would go 3200 if you have never driven a stalled car try to drive one before you buy its totally different.

My buddy just bought a yank ss3600 stall for this camaro last year that he drives every day year round. He has just basic bolt ons. Id go with that.

I have a vigilante 3200 and it drives great. It drives very much like stock and is very civil. It hits pretty good. I plan on stepping up to a 4k stall though, and it will be a daily driver as well. I honestly wouldnt go any smaller than a 3800 stall atleast.

Hey OP, do you have any plans to put a cam in the car down the road? If so, you may want to go a bit bigger. 3800 is good for the street like already stated. Looking back, I wish I had gone up to a 4000 even when it was just bolt ons.

make sure to add a good size tranny fluid cooler, and a deeper tranny pan.you will have a lock up clutch, acts like a fifth gear.a 3600 rpm stall can reduce ETs buy .5 seconds.watch the sponsor sale section for a sale.

with a stall the car rpms will be higher when you accelerate from a stop it will take more rpms to get the car moving. with the ss3600 it seems i need about 2500 rpms. that dosent mean you have to be going fast it just lets the rpms slide into a higher range. when you really get your foot in it the rpms go even higher. thats what makes it fast that dead spot till you hit 3000rpms will be gone the stall puts the ls1 right into the higher rpms where it makes all its power. mines only a weekend toy but in stop and go traffic i could see the stall being a little annoying but everyones different. i think boston is only about 30 minutes from slowhawk don is a sponsor here if you need someone to do the work hes a great guy call him up and talk to him about your goals.

Iv had ss3600 for a few weeks now and I kinda wish I went 4000. ss3600 is so easy to DD its stupid. The first few days you drive, you can tell its there, but after a couple weeks it feels like stock cause you just get used to it. If I went any lower than 3600 I would have hung myself lol. Thats how easy stupid it is to drive. Yes, its a DD with 3.23s...
