Why can't I spin my tires?
I no this is kind of dumb but it pisses me off that when I'm driving about 5-10 mph and WOT in first gear my car will either take off or give little chirp and go, it just doesn't seem right. I have 275 size tires in the rear and front. My friend has a 05 goat and he can practically do burnouts in 1st, 2nd, 3rd all day and when he does a roll in first and WOTs his rear goes crazy! I know I shouldn't compare my car to an ls2 but wtf I thought my car had 350tq why don't I feel it? Throttle response kind of sucks too, what do you guys think? Btw car is all stock besides catback.

GTO is going to have you by a decent amount on both HP and TQ, and if it has stock tire size then it's going to have only 245's compared to your 275's
Do you both have stock gear ratio's?

My ta doesn't have traction control. My tires are sumitomo all season tires nothing special with about 85% tread life left. Something doesn't feel right with the throttle response my guess is that may have something to do with it.
He has stock gear ratios but he also has headers, exhaust, intake, and some kind of sport tune.

I thought the Ws6 m6 had 3.42 gears stock? How could I have 2.73? Car has 46k miles and I recently had the plugs looked at and there good but I don't think its had a tune up yet, it shouldn't need one.

it's not dumb to ask bro, that's why this site is here, for us to help each other.....i'd say do a TUNE UP, plugs, wires, oil, top off tranny fluid and rearend, get new filters air/oil/fuel.....google "free mods for ls1"......your car will light them up, it's not like your only pushing out 120 horsepower, you should be close to 275-300 at the wheels in stock form.....take it up to about 4000 and dump the clutch.....enjoy
if it's an M6 it has 3:42's.....check on the sticker inside the driver's door panel......should say GU6 or GU5
GU6 = 3:42
GU5 = 3:23
somebody correct me if i'm wrong

lol Well ya if I dump my clutch there gonna burn but with power I should have I feel like it should be less of an effort and I'm talking about form a roll. Ya your I just looked it up but my car doesn't have the door stickers but I've already had the car verfied with GM and ASC that it is a real ws6.

could be your clutch finally wearing out too. i think mines doing the same right now. last summer i installed a mwc 9 with 3.89s, nitto nt05's, all adjustable suspension....and my tires quit spinning. i think all the stick is starting to wear on my clutch now...lol.
also had the same thing happen to me in high school with my LT1 car...would start getting slower and slower, then soon it was blowing through the clutch, then a spec 2 changed all that, made it a new beast.
try shifting to a higher gear and stomp on the gas, like 5th gear at 30....rpm's shouldnt go up.
could be wore down enough to where its not getting a full on grab anymore...

My tech told me my clutch feels wore but I know what a slipping clutch feels like and mine definitly does not slip but it doesn't feel the greatest.
From what I've heard a clutch can only affect your pull if it's slipping, correct me if im wrong.

350 torque on a stock car with only a cat back? It must have lots of stickers to make up for that added horse power. The bigger your tires the harder it will be to break them loose. I have a lid,long tube headers and Full 3 inch exhaust new plugs n wires and it's hard for me to break loose with my tires on. 275/35/18 in the rears. Now with my stock wheels 245/50/16 I can break those loose like I'm running on Ice.

Formally Simplɘ Jack
Don't mean to high jack this thread, but can someone get me a brief description on what gears ratio is lol? I'm sorry for the noobness but I just got this SS couple months ago and slowly trying to master this LS1 motor, had a V6 Camaro before and it's no where compared to this machine, so need mega tips.
