Does anyone run one the two set ups on ls1 (1998 camaro z28)?
1. American racing headers, Catted Y pipe, Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust (no cam/heads/etc....only bolt ons).
2. American Racing Headers, Catted Y pipe, Borla Cat back exhaust (no cam/heads/etc. only bolt ons).
I am having a hard time finding videos of the above referenced combos, and would like some input/direction from others on here that are running these set ups. I want something mild sounding at idle, but to scream / bark when i get on it. If you have any videos please let me know as i would like to hear them. A lot of people on hear complain that the magnaflow is too quiet, but i think that with headers it will be much louder then as a stock cat back system.
Any input would be great!
Thanks,
Derek

I had the magnaflow exhaust without headers and it was slightly louder than stock. Then i get headers, it was still not too loud at low throttle, but when i jumped on it, the car was loud and sounded amazing. I loved it.

Actually I was testing out an '02 Z28 with a Magnaflow exhaust on it (completely stock otherwise) a few weeks ago and it was quite loud. Louder than my friend's Magnaflow on his '00 Z28 with the same system. I think that once it's broken in the Magnaflow gets louder and sounds great. I have Borla on my car just because it came with it and I can't justify taking a $900 exhaust off and spending another $450+ on a different catback
