Service Engine Soon

Usually (but not always) has to do with emissions. Of course with us screwing around with the norm on our cars, we through more than just emssion codes.

It means "uh-oh, what have i screwed with recently?" It also means you're taking it someplace to see what error code is being thrown if you can't find anything you changed....

In more technical terms, the PCM has detected something wrong with your car with one of the various sensors throughout the entire car. The PCM then makes a trouble code. This code is stored in the PCM. The SES light comes on letting you know a code, or several are being stored. If the problem persists, the code will not be deleted from the computer. If it was temporary, the code will delete itself after 3 cycles I think. If you get a trouble code, you can take it to Autozone and they will scan if for you for free I believe and tell you what the code means, so you can go home and fix it. It won't tell you what the exact problem is, but the general problem, which you can limit to just a few possibilities.
