Thats a strong cam...probably 2800-6600 powerband...if you're not an m6
then you'll want a 3600-4000 stall converter

 

Its a m6 ls7 clutch hurt short throw shifter

I got a 99 Hugger Orange Camaro SS Auto trans. I bought a Comp Cam 223/231 610 I was wondering what stall should I go with?would a 2800 Stall be good for my application?

 

So the question was, "is it good?" Did I get that correct?

I'm not exactly keen on Auto cars but I would venture to say that both the MS3 and the comp cam that was mentioned would do very well with a 3600-4000 stall with a 3:73 gear.

 

this might be a dumb question but what exactly are gear ratios???

 

What we mean by gear ratios is what your final drive gear ratio is for your drivetrain. A steeper gear i.e. 4:10, 3:73 will have better acceleration but lower top speed. A shallower gear i.e. 3:23, 3:08 will have less acceleration but a higher top speed. The gear ratios are the ring and pinion located in the rear axle housing of rear wheel drive vehicles. Any of LS1tech sponsors will have the gear setup you are looking for. I see that you have an auto car and I would definitely doing a stall first over gears. You will see a much better gain.

That's not a bad price for that B+M trans. I would however call Performabuilt and FLT trans and talk over your options with them as well. They are very reputable 4l60 builders here.
