Getting rid of that truck intake and get headers, that will open it up quite a bit.

LS6 intake should be your first mod IMO. If you plan to stay under 450 rwhp, you can most likely get by with the stock injectors.

When you go with a cam, you will need to upgrade the valve springs & pushrods as well.

If you are on a budget, an LS6 intake is a good idea. A set of long tube headers would also be a good idea.

The truck intake gives up less than 10 horse to a LS6 intake and the $300
bucks or so needed to get a used LS6 manifold could get you a good used
TR224 or TSP228 cam and some hardened pushrods. Then $200 for some PAC
or PSI beehive springs and a tune and you'll pickup in the neighborhood of 45-
50 rwhp. Your oil pump and timing chain should be in perfect order since such
low mileage....Nice swap BTW...love the G bodies
IIRC the LQ9 has 36 or 42 lb injectors...big enough that I dry-shot my 03SS
with a .070 jet and no issues except the 16mph 1/4mi increase.

230 @.50 camshafts is where the LS6 starts seperating itself from the LS1 & truck intake.

On a tiny cam, the LS6 intake isn't going to do much. The truck intake actually outflows the LS1 at all RPM's. I never knew that.
