2001 WS6 vs. 2001 T/A
Sorry about beating this topic into the ground but I'm confused about something. Why is the 2001 WS6 rated at 320 H.P and the 2001 T/A rated at 310 H.P. It's the same engine and the only real major differences are the Ram Air Hood Scoop (that's still debatable if it increases HP or not) the 17" tires and the suspension.

Probably more about the lid than the 'scoop itself.
Any model that ditches the base resonator lid is
going to get rid of substantial intake pressure drop
at higher flows.
For the SS in '02 there was 10 "rated HP" for the
Blackwing lid and 10 "rated HP" for the SLP exhausts
(CME or D/D). Ala carte; your SS might have come
with both, either or none. Mine had a 335HP window
sticker, I had to buy my own lid.
Then again, they're GM's "ratings" and they can make
up whatever # they like, as long as they can meet the
minimum. Funny "segmenting" horsepower rating tricks
are the norm, a fine long General Motors tradition.

The WS6 does not have a different lid, but rather just as he stated above about a taller inlet to the lid intake system. It slightly more room for the air to flow from the ram air. Just the Ram Air hood/less restrictive exhaust/nice 17's wheels/steering wheel cooler/32mm front sway bar/ and I think 1 more thing I missing are the differences between standard T/A and WS6 T/A.

So your point is.....
Put your Feakin car on a Dyno and then you will know what your Freakin HP is!
But it is nice to have a general idea and that is when Manufacturer ratings and others are a good source. The 01 to 02 as an idea is 310 for a TA/Z28 and 325 for a WS6.
Also, I may be wrong (please give it to me if I am), but the WS6 has an aluminum drive shaft.......

Even autos with the 3.23 gears had the aluminum driveshaft. It will come down to driver and build tolerances for any one of these Ls1 F-bodys. You can throw the factory ratings in the trash...
