If you don't know what you're doing, pay someone to do it. Make sure you have all of the tools you need and the proper torque specs if you decide to build it yourself.

any particular reason you're going to stroke the 347 vs going with a larger displacement engine? (LQ swap for instance.)

Might save some money going that route.

if you're not interested in saving money.. I'd suggest what everyone else has said.. do it right and pay someone to make sure everything's done up the right way..

Good question here.

If power is very important to you, then look into a 6.0L swap imo.

Why do you want a stroker and what do you use your car for?
I just got done with my 383 build and it was a total PINA, I would never do it again (would rather build a 346 [more common parts] or just order a crate engine and be done with it).
My advise, order all your own parts (and from trusted vendors on here), take everything you hear with a grain of salt (especially from local shops that are not just LSx/GM performance specific), and research research research.
Dont forget you may need to beef up your drive train as well at take the added torque.

decide weather you want a street motor or race motor and make sure all parts flow
