Default How much have you guys spent on head/cam swap?

I have a 05 gto and was wondering if 3k was enough installed?

Not a GTO, but on my SS I just spent $3600 for a heads/cam swap, underdrive pulley, new oil pump, all supporting mods, and dyno tune.

I was happy with it. But I did forget to mention that the heads were ported 853's with about 3k miles in them, so I picked them up for a steal.

prices will vary. i mean a set of MAST heads are big money. AFRs too. theres quite a few cams to choose from too.

do you live in Cali ?maybe look at a head/cam pkg at TSP,vengeance racing,or the ws6 store.

i bought my heads and cam used so my entire heads/cam swap with gm gaskets and bolts, ls2 timing chain, ls6 oil pump, and tsp pushrods was under 1k

4k for my swap. Another thousand just to switch from an LS6 intake to a Fast 90 setup. More like $1200. I need more parts.

bought my heads from ebay for 450 stock ls6 243 heads had comp 918 springs installed already, bought mti 224/224@112 cam off a member on tech, everything else bought either from texas speed or scoggin dickey. did all the labor myself.

if you find some one who knows what they are doing and has the right tools ,it shouldn't take more then 8 hrs labor.have you checked the vendors on here for head/cam combo prices ?
