Talking best cam for shorties ,00 m6

ok guys so im in a dilemma i have an ls6 intake 799 heads and i have pacesetter shorties , i hear nothing but good things about the tr224/224 114 lsa cam , but also good things about the cheaTR cam 218/230 118 lsa for stock manifolds , since i have shorties what in your guys opinion would be the best. im trying to get as close to 400hp as possible thanks !!!!

I had a ls1 with with 243 heads and shorties in a 04 GTO with a predator cam 224/231 577/588 and it made the same hp with shorties and then long tubes. If interested I can get you more info on the cam.

IMO there really isn't a BEST cam for shorty headers, the key is to staying with a small enough cam to where the exhaust isn't restrictive. And with the above example the GTO exhaust is different then F bodies. So although a 224 cam will work with shorties you would probable be leaving a few ponies on the table without LT's

I am running a 222/222 with 114 LSA on stock manifold and cats. Ryne from CMS said a 218/224 on a 114 LSA would have been a better choice.

224/224 on 116, no complaints. Did need some serious work
on idle tuning which I thought 116 LSA would get me past,
but no.

so i better just ask the shop who is going to do my tune then , they have tons of experience with lsx engines , Fbodyjunkie06 so you think the cheaTR will be my best option ?? and still pass smog ?

I say CheaTR or custom, TR224 will work better with Longtubes. You might want to get an EPS custom since they are experts matching cams with set-up.

If the cheaTR has 12 more exhaust duration to help with the manifold bottle-
neck, and shorties are slightly better (5-7hp), I'd guess perhaps only 8 deg's
more would help the cylinder head's 70% Ex. to In. flow ratio. EPS 218/226
when tuned will sound and act stock yet still pass smog

One of the major questions in the healthcare industry is whether major insurance companies
are going to hop on the meaningful use train as well.

I personaly advice all to go for your types of car insurance, also with the above example the GTO exhaust is different then F bodies.
