Help! Interior smells like Fuel after getting gas.
I've had my car for several months now and it always smelled like a field of fresh flowers... ( ) but now it smells like premium on the inside. If i fill up anywhere past the half tank mark it just REEKS . I've looked around inside and out and have found no drips or anything of the such. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing it?
Thanks in advance.

Is your car lowered? If so it could be a pinched gas line. If your car is lowered and have some ride in the back seat it lowers it even more then maybe by chance your went over a speed bump and crushed a gas line. It sounds crazy but it happned to someone I know.

It's a black box about the size of a littles kids lunch box. It has two or three hard black plastic lines going into it. It should be located in the drivers side rear quarter panel near the gas filler neck. It's an emissions control device that controls the fuel vapor. If it is stopped up or clogged you could have a raw fuel release when you fuel.

The best way to diagnose is to take it to a dealership and have them look at it. You should be able to get under the car and see it inside of the drivers rear quarter panel. Really you need to check the canister when you fill up. This could be an intermittent problem with the vent valve sticking not allowing the fuel vapor in the tank to release while you fuel.

I have worked on all types of cars and trucks and I have found that when u fill up the tank that the air bleed off at the top the tank has come loose it will spit out some gas and there is a low spot where the sender sits so it pools there and will not show up as a leak,
In order to check this u have to drop the tank or if u have a accese hole in your trunk u can check it,the canister only works when the car is running as it uses the vac from the engine to purge the gases, also when the cap is on pressure builds up and if this hose is loose it will spit fumes or gas on top of tank.
