what year camaro
I want to buy a ls1 camaro. I looked on wikipedia and it says that different years came with different things like the 2001 and 2002 camaros have a ls6 intake and 310 stock hp where as the 98 99 and 2000 have 305 hp. Im looking to buy my first camaro and i want it to be an ls1 camaro but which year is the best year for me to buy and why?

01' 02' have the LS6 intake. If you plan on upgrading the car you can save a step as most people who have a 98'-00' such as myself upgrade to the LS6 intake. It's only $300 used so not a big deal but a small perk. Don't look at advertised HP numbers, they are wrong. In general, all LS1's make about 350hp at the motor.

Everyone switches the PCV to the revised system used in the LS6. Also there are block revisions added after the first runs of motors to improve oiling and increase strength. Being that the cars are so similar, I would look for best overall value.

Cause i found a 1999 camaro z28 with 155000 kilometer on it which is 96 000 miles and hes asking 6000$. But say i wanted to have a street/strip car which one would be the easiest to make to 11 seconds? meaning the 98-02

Please check the FAQ sticky at the top of this section for answers to this exact question. You can also do a search on this site for further info, it has been covered many times in the past.
PS. All stock LS1s make 345-350hp in factory form. There are no 305-310hp LS1s, the factory gave this false (lower) rating to make the Corvette numbers look more appealing. This also allowed GM to give the WS6/SS cars higher stock HP ratings (320-325) to help justify the extra sticker price without actually doing anything to increase power on those models (an LS1 is an LS1....they are 100% the same engine within the same model year, doesn't matter if it's a Z28 or a WS6 or anything inbetween).
There is no significant power difference between the various model years. '98-'00 have a slightly bigger cam. '00-'02 have slightly better flowing exhaust manifolds. '01-'02 have heads that received a marginally better casting process. '01-'02 have the LS6 intake, which is only a marginal improvement on a stock engine. The net result is no more than 5-10hp difference from one model year as compared to any other.
