Factory Tach

Its run off the Camshaft Position Sensor which I believe is at the back of the Block, behind the Intake. I can't say I've ever had to remove or replace one, so you may want to wait for others to chime in for the specifics. Good luck, man.

If you're still running the rear-mounted cam sensor, check for the plug-in near the front of the engine on the passenger side too. That harness runs clear over there and then back, and we've seen it missed being plugged in (not sure why they get unplugged though) during re-install.

I don't know that ALL of the F-bodies have it, but we have seen some. It would be very obvious, as there would be two connectors in front of the passenger side head unplugged (or maybe even with front, up nearer the manifold). We were guessing that GM had plans for the Gen3 engines to have the front mount cam sensor, because that harness terminated in a perfect spot for that, and had a change of plan (after harnesses were built, but before blocks were machined).

You were right Matt, I thought those connecters were for the EGR that I took off. Hooked them together and tach started working. I unplugged battery and reconnected then started car but SES light was still on. Car started alot easier though, but as soon as it starts to warm up it has a hard time idling. Any idea on that, I did do a mail order tune by frost. Oh by the way car sounds real nice with the Torquer v3 from you guys. Can't wait to put a few miles on it and then open it up. Also installed your Stg 2.5 LS6 Heads, 17/8 headers with my Fast 92/92. Hoping to put down 450 at the wheels.
